BEARINGS RELEASE NEW SONG

Pop-punk outfit BEARINGS have unveiled their latest anthem, ‘Freaking Me Out’, the newest single from their upcoming album Comfort Company, due out November 7, 2025, via Pure Noise Records.
“Freaking Me Out, was a song that started simple enough on an acoustic and the more we built it up the more fun we had with it. It finds itself somewhere between a pool party and a manic episode where you question the meaning of life.” said frontman Doug Cousins.
Now on their fourth full-length, Comfort Company, BEARINGS turn their energy inward, exploring what it means to grow older in a world that never stops spinning. Written during long highway drives and quiet moments between shows, the album marks a return to Room 21 in Toronto, the studio where they recorded both their debut EP and Blue in the Dark, once again teaming up with producer Kyle Marchant.
Across its tracklist, Comfort Company captures the signature chemistry that defines BEARINGS. The title track taps into the raw urgency of their Warped Tour roots, while ‘Quick Release’ delivers a timeless pop-punk hook with a fresh, modern edge. Derek DiScanio of State Champs lends his voice to the bass-and-hi-hat-driven ‘Float Away,’ adding an extra layer of energy. Elsewhere, ‘Freaking Me Out’ dives into the chaos of intrusive thoughts, ‘Feel Less’ wrestles with emotional numbness, and “Let Me Hate Myself” closes the album with all three vocalists intertwining for a powerful finale.
The result is Comfort Company, BEARINGS’ most honest release to date.
“Comfort Company is for us the record that feels like coming back home. Some songs we wrote at a cottage together, others came from a basement. They all started somewhere honest and ended up back at the studio where we did our first album in the East End of Toronto. This album was working on music all day, walking to the beer store, then heading back to the windowless studio to relax before reading Kurt Vonnegut and eventually falling asleep on an air mattress. As we worked out what we wanted it to sound like we found ourselves wanting to make music that felt natural to us, something that we knew we’d connect with and be able to spill out on stage when the time came to perform it.” said Cousins.
