ALBUM REVIEW: WHITE REAPER - ONLY SLIGHTLY EMPTY (26/09/25)
Few rock bands today deliver as consistently as White Reaper. Since their early days, the Louisville, KY group has proven how exciting loud guitars, crunchy riffs, and big choruses can be. On their sixth album, Only Slightly Empty, they overcome some of the toughest challenges of their career, creative burnout, lineup changes, and label shakeups, to release what might be their most fun and energetic record yet.
ALBUM REVIEW: KANADIA - THE FIRE THAT’S TEARING THROUGH OUR HOME (26/09/25)
Oxford’s alternative rock outfit Kanadia return with their third and most mature record to date, The Fire That’s Tearing Through Our Home, a 12-track exploration of fragility, resilience, and catharsis. Produced at Evolution Recording Studios in their hometown by Chris Barker (guitarist for Willie J. Healey) and mixed by Tom Leach (Lewis Capaldi, Pa Salieu, Spiritualized) at London’s Snap Studios, the album achieves both polish and rawness, perfectly framing the band’s growth.
ALBUM REVIEW: THE FAVORS - THE DREAM (19/09/25)
When Ashe and Finneas, both incredible singer-songwriters on their own merits, announced they’d be forming a band - The Favors - and releasing a full LP this fall, our curiosity was immediately sparked. They gave the world a first taste of what a collaboration between the two of them could sound like in 2021, with the haunting ‘Til Forever Falls Apart’, and have only expanded on their incredible vocal chemistry with this new project.
ALBUM REVIEW: I SEE STARS - THE WHEEL (12/09/25)
After nearly a decade-long hiatus since Treehouse (2016), electronicore pioneers I See Stars return with their long-awaited, highly anticipated new album THE WHEEL, a deeply personal and arguably ambitious concept album. The record is framed as a “time capsule capturing the past seven years of our lives,” spanning personal trauma, growth, and creative reboot. Produced by David Bendeth and mostly mixed by Zakk Cervini - though Tom Norris also worked on a couple of tracks - THE WHEEL captures vocalist Devin Oliver at his most vulnerable, while musically, the band delivers their most mature, ambitious, and focused work to date.
ALBUM REVIEW: TEN56. - IO (05/09/2025) - TRACK BY TRACK
The French nu-deathcore super group ten56. have returned with their highly anticipated sophomore album, IO, a record that doubles down on the raw aggression and emotional themes that defined their debut, Downer. If their debut was a declaration of intent, IO is the full-blown execution of that vision. Compared to the two-part debut, IO feels like a cohesive experience. The transitions between tracks are seamless, creating a continuous flow of emotional catharsis that delves even deeper into the darkest corners of the human psyche. While the lyrical themes of personal trauma, betrayal, and mental turmoil are familiar territory, IO presents them with a newfound vulnerability.
ALBUM REVIEW: NOVA TWINS - PARASITES & BUTTERFLIES (29/08/25)
Nova Twins - the London-based duo Amy Love (guitar/vocals) and Georgia South (bass/vocals) - published Parasites & Butterflies as their third studio album on 29 August 2025. Building on the success of Supernova (2022), this new record dives deeper into duality - leveraging contrasts between chaos and beauty, light and shade, and vulnerability and empowerment.

Released on 29 August 2025, Giants & Monsters is the seventeenth studio album from German power-metal legends Helloween, marking their second studio effort (following 2021’s self-titled release Helloween) with the reunited lineup - Andi Deris, Michael Kiske, and Kai Hansen among them. ALBUM REVIEW: HOT MULLIGAN - THE SOUND A BODY MAKES WHEN IT’S STILL (22/08/25)
Hot Mulligan is a recognised staple within the alternative and emo community since 2014, having brought us iconic tracks such as ‘BCKYRD’ and ‘*Equip Sunglasses*’. Comprised of lead vocalist Tades Sanville, rhythm guitarist and vocalist Chris Freeman, lead guitarist Ryan Malicsi, bassist Jonah Kramer and drummer Brandon Blakeley, Hot Mulligan are known for their unique, gritty noughties-style vocals and sometimes nonsensical song names. They are back with their highly anticipated THE SOUND A BODY MAKES WHEN IT’S STILL, with 16 tracks meticulously assembled for your enjoyment, which releases today, 22 August 2025.
ALBUM REVIEW: STORM - JOIN THE STORM (22/08/25)
With millions of TikTok views, a fast-rising fanbase, and a reputation for explosive live shows, STORM - Leo Davadi Sundli - has quickly become one of Norway’s most compelling new artists. Now, after four years in the making, he unveils his debut album Join the Storm, a bold and uncompromising statement of identity. Drawing inspiration from Bring Me The Horizon, Falling in Reverse, Billie Eilish, and YUNGBLUD, STORM has crafted a sound as unpredictable as it is personal - weaving together pop-punk, metalcore, EDM, rap, and soaring ballads into one restless, high-voltage journey.
ALBUM REVIEW: CONAN GRAY - WISHBONE (15/08/25)
Only a year after Found Heaven and a few months from the reissue of his debut, Kid Krow, Decomposed (5 Year Anniversary), Conan Gray releases his 4th studio album. Wishbone is an emotional punch in the gut, as the former Kid Crow takes us on a bittersweet journey of love and loss, recounting the painful final acts of a doomed relationship, in what is possibly his most mature record to date.
ALBUM REVIEW: THREE DAYS GRACE - ALIENATION (22/08/25)
With their most recent release, Three Days Grace remind us why they’ve been hailed as one of the major rock bands of our generation for almost three decades. Alienation is a mix of nostalgic heavy rock sounds mixed with softer yet equally powerful moments of reflection, exploring themes of isolation, heartbreak and the anxiety that both cause as human experiences that divide and unite us all at the same time.
