Liverpool’s very own rising stars, East Exchange, have officially announced the release of their eagerly anticipated six-track EP, torn between ties. arriving via AWAL. Serving as a deeply compelling body of work, the record dives headfirst into themes of emotional struggle, self-reflection, and human connection, featuring a tracklist that includes fan-favorite releases unspoken, lily, and fall. The four-piece brought the project to life alongside GRAMMY Award-winning producer and mixer Adrian Bushby, known for his work with Foo Fighters, Muse, and Feeder, who originally discovered the group on TikTok, where they have amassed over 110,000 followers and 3.8 million likes.

Coinciding with the EP announcement, the band has also dropped their beautifully haunting new single, the aptly named ghost., which is anchored by frontman Sonny K’s captivating and powerhouse vocals. The new track vividly captures the simmering tension of interpersonal conflict, giving voice to the frustration of feeling misunderstood and unheard by someone close to you. Reflecting on the creation of the project, the band shared:

“We were still figuring out our sound and identity when we got kicked out of our rehearsal room, and ended up moving into this freezing, run-down warehouse space on the edge of town. It was dingy and depressing but, looking back, it suited the music East Exchange were trying to make far better than the room we'd left behind. ghost. came together in that space, alongside many of the songs that would eventually make up the torn between ties. We can’t wait for everyone to experience the EP the way we envisaged it, because we worked really hard together on it, and we’re extremely proud of how it’s turned out. Working with Adrian Bushby really helped bring our vision to life.“

This major milestone comes in the middle of a jam-packed and admirable debut festival season for the group, having already taken the stage at major events such as 2000trees, Outbreak, The Great Escape, Liverpool Sound City, and Dot to Dot. On top of their festival run, East Exchange have spent the year supporting high-profile acts like Enter Shikari, Letlive, and Return To Dust, rapidly expanding their passionate fanbase with every single performance.
