ETHEL CAIN UNLEASHES NEW ALBUM
Copyright: Matthew Tomasi
Ahead of her completely sold-out “Willoughby Tucker Forever” tour, Ethel Cain has unveiled her long-awaited sophomore album, Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You. The record arrives on the heels of its standout singles ‘Fuck Me Eyes’ and ‘Nettles,’ both of which have earned critical acclaim and racked up millions of streams since their release.
More than just a follow-up, Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You serves as a deeply personal prequel to Cain’s 2022 debut Preacher’s Daughter, chronicling her first love in vivid, unflinching detail. Written over the span of her career and brought to life in the past year, the album draws from material penned since 2019, when Cain - born Hayden Anhedönia - first introduced her now-iconic pseudonym.
Known for her singular creative vision, Cain began teaching herself production as a teenager and went on to singlehandedly write, record, produce, and mix her acclaimed 2021 EP Inbred from the basement of an old church she once called home.
This September, Cain will bring the new album to life on stage, performing in more than 40 cities across North America and Europe, with highlight stops including London’s Eventim Apollo.
