Following a monumental, career-defining UK headline album tour this past September, Exploring Birdsong have officially announced that they will be hitting the road once again for a new run of UK headline dates in February 2027. The upcoming tour is set to launch at The Mash House in Edinburgh on February 16th, continuing through Birmingham, Brighton, and Liverpool, before wrapping up with a finale at The Key Club in Leeds on February 21st. Joining them as special guests throughout the tour will be the Berlin-based six-piece outfit oktobernatt.
Speaking of the tour, vocalist Lynsey Ward shares, “We’re super excited to be back out on the road in 2027. Most of these cities are completely fresh for us, and to be returning to Liverpool feels really special, with it being where we started this entire journey. Our headline run in September was a crazy milestone for us, so to be taking Every House We Built back out so soon is something we feel honoured to be able to do. Prepare your office attire and prepare for the Birdsong Property Development first quarter company review!”

On their debut full-length, Every House We Built, Exploring Birdsong step into their most vulnerable and personal chapter yet, intentionally shifting away from conceptual storytelling to deliver an intimate exploration of human connection. At its core, the album reflects on relationships across all forms—spanning friendships, family, and romance—by using the metaphor of houses to explore how emotional bonds are carefully constructed over time, yet remain susceptible to fracturing just as easily. This idea of fragile architecture runs continuously throughout the record, with recurring imagery of physical spaces, homes, and structural foundations giving the entire project a cohesive and resonant emotional thread.
Across the album's tracklist, the band draws directly from lived experience, moving seamlessly through heavy themes of anxiety, toxic dynamics, inherited grief, longing, and sudden absence, while simultaneously capturing uplifting moments of warmth, hope, and self-realisation. Musically and lyrically, it balances raw emotional intensity with moments of deliberate restraint, constantly shifting between vulnerability, anger, and quiet reflection.
Central to the entire record is the lingering sense that even the strongest connections can reveal hidden cracks over time, ultimately leading to collapse and profound loss. Yet, despite these heavier motifs, the project ultimately resists falling into total despair. Instead, the album closes on a clear note of renewal, suggesting that despite everything that breaks down around us, there is still immense value in building, trusting, and choosing to start again.
Ultimately, Every House We Built stands as a deeply human debut about what we create with others, what we lose along the way, and the quiet resilience it takes to rebuild from the ground up.
