GG MAGREE ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM
Producer, vocalist, and boundary-pushing artist GG Magree has announced her debut album, Spit Love, set for release on 22 October via Rise Records/BMG. Growing up immersed in Sydney’s historic gay club scene, Magree learned early to shed inhibition and embrace freedom. Her latest single and video, ‘Wet Dreams’, released today, brings that spirit to life, imagining a sex rave fantasy featuring an all-LGBTQ cast and celebrating her bisexual identity.
“This album is everything they told me not to be,” she says. “But it isn’t just about me; it’s about rewriting the narrative for every woman, every queer person, every soul who’s ever been told they’re too much. So love yourself — hard. Own your story. And let the world choke on it.”
Following the release of ‘Bleed’ and ‘Run’, the first two songs and videos from Spit Love, GG Magree’s latest single Wet Dreams continues the dark, horror-infused saga of a stripper - played by Magree herself - who harbors a taste for human flesh and blood. The narrative is set to culminate in a short film scheduled for late October.
“I make art that bleeds, screams, seduces and liberates. I don’t make music to be liked — I make it to be free,” says Magree. “A voice for the hyper-sexualised, abused and underestimated. For the woman told to ‘calm down’ and the queer kids told to ‘cover up.’”
