Japanese metal force HANABIE. will release a new EP, HOT TOPIC, on 28th January, followed by a headlining North American tour in March and April. The release offers the “Harajuku-core” quartet another opportunity to bring their whirlwind rock sound to a global audience, with a collection of songs that capture the band at their most heavy, chaotic and irresistibly catchy to date.
The EP announcement follows a hugely successful EU and UK tour, which saw HANABIE. perform 23 shows, sell out 17 cities, and reach a combined audience of 25,000 fans. After an already packed 2025 featuring festival appearances across the world, including a performance at Vans Warped Tour in the US, the band closed out the year with a standout appearance at KNOTFEST 2025 in Mexico. With another huge year ahead, 2026 is set to be even bigger for HANABIE., stay tuned for more news.
Formed in Tokyo, HANABIE. are an all-female rock band who have been making waves worldwide since Yukina (vocals), Matsuri (guitar & vocals) and Hettsu (bass & chorus) first came together in high school. The addition of Chika (drums) in May 2023 completed the lineup, elevating the band into a formidable force. Don’t be fooled by their cute aesthetic, HANABIE. are a “Harajuku-core” band rooted in metal, hardcore and Japanese idol pop. Blending hard-hitting shouts, crushing riffs and unmistakable Japanese flair, they have captured audiences both at home and abroad.
Their breakout single ‘Pardon Me, I Have To Go Now’ has amassed over 10.7 million views on YouTube and 5.1 million views on TikTok. Within just six months of their major-label debut under Epic Records Japan in July 2023, the band completed a 45-date world tour across 17 countries. In August 2024, they made history as the first Japanese all-woman band to perform on the main stage at Lollapalooza Chicago. Most recently, they wrapped up a headline European tour and performed in Mexico for the first time at Slipknot’s Knotfest in December 2025, with a North American tour scheduled to begin in March 2026.
