HOLDING ABSENCE ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM

The South Wales trio Holding Absence have officially heralded a new era today with the announcement of their highly anticipated third studio album, Modern Life Is Lonely, which is set to arrive on August 28th through their newly minted label partnership with Sumerian Records.

In tandem with this landmark reveal, the band has unveiled a visceral new single titled ‘Reflection’. The track serves as a bruised and deeply introspective anthem that navigates the harrowing territory of self-destruction and distorted self-image. It captures the agonizing yet necessary journey of learning to heal, evolve, and ultimately find peace with the person staring back in the mirror.

While discussing the weight of the new single and the gravity of today’s announcement, frontman Lucas Woodland expressed the band's collective pride by sharing, “We are ecstatic to release our new single "Reflection", taken from our upcoming album ‘Modern Life Is Lonely’. As a cohesive project, Modern Life Is Lonely functions as a profoundly human exploration of grief, love, identity, and the exhausting struggle for emotional survival within an overstimulated modern landscape. The album meticulously traces the thin, fragile line separating despair from rebirth, utilizing a rich tapestry of imagery involving broken mirrors, fading memories, fractured bodies, and ghost-like connections. Throughout the duration of the record, Holding Absence grapple with the heavy themes of loneliness, trauma, and mortality alongside the desperate search for meaning.
