Rapidly rising Los Angeles-based duo Honey Revenge have officially dropped their newest single, 'Sunday Scaries'. The track serves as the latest preview of what is to come from their eagerly anticipated second full-length album, Loving and Losing, which is scheduled for release on September 18th through Thriller Records.
Anchored by massive pop hooks, propulsive guitar work, and the group's signature high-octane energy, 'Sunday Scaries' expertly captures the chaotic dynamic between a wild, uninhibited night out and the heavy, lingering hangxiety that hits the following morning. It stands as a sharp, remarkably self-aware anthem centered on living for the moment, fully recognizing that you will have to face the fallout once tomorrow arrives.
Alongside the track’s arrival comes a brand new music video directed by Grace Stromatt, which puts the band right in the middle of a house party that slowly devolves into glorious chaos, a perfect visual match for the song’s focus on escapism and overindulgence.
“You know when you go out partying, and wake up the next morning anxious because you can’t fully remember the night before? You have racing thoughts about the texts you wouldn’t have sent if you were sober, you’re sick from the extra drink you shouldn’t have had, and the sleep you didn’t get. In my house we call that hang-xiety, aka the Sunday Scaries. Escapism is all fun and games until it evolves into self sabotage”, shares Devin (Papadol, vocals). “This song is all about that sensation I feel when I open my eyes after a bender and how I fall in and out of love with going out and being carefree. The older I get the less worth it seems but the more I need a little release.”
'Sunday Scaries' marks the fifth single unveiled from Loving and Losing, trailing the previously released tracks 'Poison Apple Baby', 'Hot Commodity', 'Run Your Mouth', and 'Butterfly Effect'.
