Fast-ascending rap/punk sensation Hyphen has officially confirmed the upcoming arrival of his eagerly awaited EP, Here To Stay, set to drop on November 20th. Across six captivating tracks, this fully realized body of work tackles themes of political unrest, grief, and, above all, unwavering perseverance. The project brings together previously dropped fan-favourites - ‘SAID WHAT I SAID,’ ‘HYDRA,’ and ‘Go Back’ - alongside three brand-new offerings. Spearheading the new material is the lead single and project finale, ‘We Are One’, an emotionally charged anthem honoring the NHS. Hyphen penned the track while his father was fighting for his life in intensive care following a devastating, near-fatal auto accident.
Reflecting on the harrowing experience, Hyphen shared: “My Dad nearly died in a car crash a few weeks ago. I wrote this while he was in intensive care, unsure of whether he'd live or not. NHS staff from all around the world worked tirelessly to answer the prayers of families hoping their loved ones would survive. I bonded with total strangers with totally different backgrounds and experiences over our shared proximity to death. That experience made me feel that most humans are good, most humans care - we are one.”
Speaking on the broader scope of the release, Hyphen offered deeper context: "Here To Stay is an EP about survival. My father surviving a car crash. Humans surviving political crisis. Immigrants surviving racism. Me surviving suicide. The world is undeniably dark. But there's light everywhere. Human's adaptability and resilience is unquestionable. I hope the EP is something people can hold onto when they feel hopeless. I hope it gives focus to the rage we feel at the parasitic richest among us who would burn the world instead of confronting the abyss within them. 'I used to think I was a human experiencing the universe, now I think I'm the universe experiencing a human.' We are all part of the same fabric, the music is a reminder of that. I hope you find comfort in it."
To commemorate the EP's arrival, Hyphen will host a special launch celebration. Scheduled for November 3rd starting at 7 PM, the event will take place at The Elephant’s Head in Camden. Beyond a live set from Hyphen and his full band, the gathering will deeply honor South Asian cultural traditions. Guests can look forward to receiving traditional celebratory garlands, while an on-site henna artist crafts custom henna body art throughout the evening.
Shortly after the release show, Hyphen will hit the road alongside punk outfit Kid Kapichi for their nationwide UK headline tour this November. The run kicks off at Bristol’s Electric on November 12th, visiting key cities such as Falmouth, Southampton, Norwich, Glasgow, Nottingham, and Manchester, before culminating at London’s Outernet on November 20th. Tickets for all dates are available now. This upcoming run follows a busy summer festival circuit that saw Hyphen grace stages at Green Man, 2000 Trees, Kendal Calling, and Boomtown. Earlier in the spring, the London-born musician completed his largest headlining UK tour to date—a completely sold-out trek that included a landmark night at London’s Scala, supported by Native James, Mudrat, and Gen and the Degenerates. His festival résumé also boasts prominent appearances at The Great Escape, Reading & Leeds, and Latitude.
Seamlessly fusing rap, punk, and hip-hop, the London-based performer delivers an exhilarating, high-voltage live experience. Dedicated to cultivating an inclusive community for like-minded fans, Hyphen routinely steps off the stage to perform right from the heart of the crowd, forging genuine connections. While his discography fearlessly engages heavy subject matter—ranging from personal mental health struggles and systemic racism to political corruption and immigration—his delivery remains distinctively playful, laced with razor-sharp wit and a cheeky sense of mischief. Standing as the prominent South Asian rock voice in the UK, his trajectory is backed by accolades including Spotify RADAR status, BBC Introducing Future Sounds backing, and a PRS Momentum grant (following in the footsteps of previous recipients like Sam Fender and Little Simz). Having earned vocal co-signs from figures as varied as Hollywood star Jennifer Coolidge and economic activist Gary Stevenson, along with a streaming count stretching into the tens of millions, Hyphen’s journey is only just getting started.
