JIMMY EAT WORLD ANNOUNCE HUGE ANNIVERSARY SHOW AT GUNNERSBURY PARK
Arizona rock icons Jimmy Eat World have announced their return to the UK for their biggest headline show in the country to date, taking over London’s Gunnersbury Park on Sunday 16 August 2026 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their seminal fourth album Bleed American.
They’ll be joined by a stellar supporting lineup featuring Rise Against, The Get Up Kids and Jay Som.
The Gunnersbury Park performance will be one of the first opportunities for UK fans to experience Bleed American played in full in honour of its 25-year legacy. The band will also perform deep cuts and favourites from across their catalogue, presented with their most ambitious production yet.
A landmark in alternative rock, Bleed American helped propel the genre into the mainstream and solidified Jimmy Eat World as defining voices of the 2000s. The album is certified Platinum in the US and Gold in the UK, with its flagship single ‘The Middle’ surpassing 1 billion Spotify streams. Beyond its commercial impact, the record shaped a generation of artists, including Fall Out Boy, Paramore, Dashboard Confessional, Taking Back Sunday and The Wonder Years, and ‘The Middle’ has been covered by the likes of Prince and Taylor Swift. Its iconic bowling-trophy artwork, taken from William Eggleston’s photograph Memphis, was chosen by frontman Jim Adkins, an admirer of Eggleston’s work.
Reflecting on the album’s legacy, Jim Adkins says: ‘‘When we printed the last mix of Bleed American, we felt like we had achieved something great for ourselves. There was no barometer of how it would connect with people outside of the studio and we are still in awe with the life the record and songs have had since their original release. Bleed American is as much yours as it is ours, so we want to celebrate it with you all in a very special way.”
The announcement caps a year of major live activity for the band, including a celebrated set at Download Festival, an arena-sized North American run supporting The Offspring, and appearances at Sonic Temple, Welcome To Rockville, Four Chord Music Festival, Furnace Fest and Best Friends Forever.
While currently in the studio working on new material, Jimmy Eat World recently released their Something(s) Loud EP on 14 November. The EP marks the vinyl debut of previous digital-only singles ‘Something Loud’ - hailed by The Guardian as “arguably Jimmy Eat World’s best track in years” - ‘Place Your Debts,’ and their cover of Crooked Fingers’ ‘Call to Love’ featuring Bethany Cosentino. It also includes an acoustic version of ‘Something Loud,’ a TW Walsh remix of ‘Place Your Debts,’ and the previously unreleased track ‘Failure,’ originally recorded during the Surviving sessions and co-produced with Justin Meldal-Johnsen, engineered and mixed by Failure co-founder Ken Andrews.
