LAKE MALICE RELEASE NEW SINGLE
Lake Malice have returned with their latest release, ‘Nobody Wants To Be You’ - a dark pop-metal anthem taking aim at vanity, nepotism, and self-obsession within the music industry. Already a live favourite, the track channels vocalist Alice Guala’s fierce Italian flair, calling out the superficial and the self-serving in a world where meritocracy feels like a myth.
Driven by industrial rhythms and explosive metalcore choruses, ‘Nobody Wants To Be You’ is a cathartic scream against industry fakery. Guala delivers a stunning vocal performance, effortlessly shifting between soaring melody and visceral aggression. The track was produced by Blake Cornwall (Lake Malice’s guitarist and sonic architect) alongside Jon Cass, with mixing by Carl Bown and mastering by Ste Kerry.
The music video, directed by Zak Pinchin, amplifies the track’s dark energy with a stylised, theatrical edge - complete with the backup dancers who joined the band onstage throughout the summer.
Lake Malice’s genre-blending approach allows them to slot seamlessly alongside a wide range of artists. In 2025 alone, they’ve shared stages with RØRY and Bury Tomorrow, and have stormed major festivals including Slam Dunk, 2000trees, Wacken Open Air, and RADAR. This month, they join Enter Shikari as main support across the UK and Europe, with a one-off headline show in Southampton. In November, they’ll hit the road again as main support for Japanese metal sensations Hanabie on their UK and Ireland tour.
‘Nobody Wants To Be You’ follows the blistering single ‘Scatterbrain’, marking another explosive chapter in Lake Malice’s unstoppable rise.
