SET IT OFF RELEASE NEW SONG

Independent rock trio Set It Off have unleashed ‘Pathological’, a furious, riff-heavy opener from their forthcoming self-titled album, marking a bold new chapter in their career.

Following the success of recent singles ‘Punching Bag’, ‘Rotten’ and ‘Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing [REBORN]’, ‘Pathological’ arrives as a venomous blend of rap-rock rhythms and searing guitars. Lyrically, it’s a no-holds-barred takedown of chronic liars, frauds, and those who manipulate truth for attention or advantage.

“It’s unfortunate - the number of people I’ve come across in my lifetime that feel the need to make stuff up all the time because they feel like their current life isn’t exciting enough,” explains frontman Cody Carson.

“At first they seem like little white lies that just embellish somebody’s stories, but as they get away with it, they realise they can lie all the time. Then, it gets out of hand - because it always does - and it ruins their life. This song is my response to the handfuls of people I’ve met who took advantage of my kindness in order to get ahead.”

“I don’t have to name names, because everybody else already knows...”

‘Pathological’ leads the charge on Set It Off’s first album since 2022’s Elsewhere - and their debut full-length release as an independent band. Now fully in control of their creative direction, Cody, drummer Maxx Danziger, and guitarist Zach DeWall are leaning into their heaviest, most unfiltered sound yet.

Already a multi-million streaming, globally touring force, the band’s shift to independence has sparked a new wave of success, including climbing the US rock radio charts and delivering headline-grabbing performances at DWP festivals.

“Every previous album was so necessary for us to be able to find this sound,” says Cody Carson of the record. “This is not the final destination, but it's the road we should have been running down the whole time.”
