SKINDRED ANNOUNCE BRAND NEW ALBUM AND RELEASE NEW SINGLE

Welsh ragga metal powerhouses Skindred have dropped their brand-new single ‘You Got This’, alongside a wildly entertaining new video.

Serving as the title track from their just-announced ninth studio album - due out 17 April via the legendary Earache Records - ‘You Got This’ is classic Skindred through and through. Guitarist Mikey Demus fires off wrecking-ball riffs while drummer Arya Goggin drives the song with his trademark, full-throttle groove. At the center, the incomparable Benji Webbe flips between fierce toasting and knockout hooks, delivering a performance that’s as dynamic as it is defiant.

The track’s spark came from a powerful real-life moment: while at the gym, Benji watched a man pushing through rehab after a stroke. When his trainer told him, “You got this,” the entire atmosphere shifted, and the phrase stuck.

“I was watching from a distance, and I could see the struggle and the pain, but in that moment, I knew he had got this,” recalls Benji. “It’s such an empowering statement and it applies to so many battles that everybody faces: it could be a recovery from a stroke, or it could be studying for your exams at school. For me, having songs that lift people who are going through tough times is the most important thing. I feel like that's what I'm put on this planet to do.”

A born motivator, Benji embodies the spirit of You Got This. His boundless energy and charisma radiate through every lyric, blending raw power with uplifting emotion. Across the record, he champions self-belief, resilience, and finding joy in life’s small victories, he’s the loudest life coach you’ll ever meet.

Following the mainstream breakthrough of 2023’s critically acclaimed Smile - which stormed to #2 on the UK Official Album Chart, earned Best Alternative Music Act at the MOBO Awards, and Best UK Act at the Heavy Music Awards - You Got This finds Skindred pushing further, harder, and louder.

Now a leaner Newport trio, Skindred sound more focused than ever. The album delivers everything fans crave: bruising bangers, infectious hooks, genre-bending soundclashes, and dancehall-fueled anthems built to ignite festivals and venues worldwide.

Behind the desk is Grammy-winning producer Jay Ruston, known for his work with everyone from Desmond Child to Slipknot’s Corey Taylor and Mr. Bungle’s Mike Patton. “It was working with someone who didn’t just stay in one lane, which is exactly what Skindred has always been about,” says the multi-talented drummer.

With You Got This, Skindred look to the future, and the stage. As their audience grows to include new generations of fans, the band is setting their sights higher than ever. Benji dreams of commanding Coachella or Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage, while Mikey, Arya, and the rest of the crew focus on keeping the fire burning.

“When you start a band, you don’t think for a second that you’re going to headline Wembley. I don’t feel like we made it happen; the audience made it happen by committing to be there and travelling so far to come. When you’re in a band you’re always looking at the next thing and it can be hard to be like, wow, what’s happening right now is amazing. There are still so many people out there who should know us but have never heard of us. So, we’ve got this whole fight ahead of us still.”

Because if there’s one thing Skindred have proven time and again, it’s that they’ve got this.
