STAND ATLANTIC RETURN WITH NEW SONG

Australian alternative heavyweights Stand Atlantic have officially made their triumphant return today with the release of their vibrant new single and accompanying music video, ‘Velcro,’ available now via Virgin Music Group. Following its exclusive global premiere this morning during the First Play segment on triple j Breakfast, the track represents a pivotal creative evolution for the quartet, seamlessly blending their trademark high-octane energy with a raw, newfound emotional vulnerability.

The track itself explores the themes of magnetic attraction, deep emotional exposure, and the intoxicating, inescapable pull of a person you simply cannot walk away from. While ‘Velcro’ proudly honors the punchy, driving power that Stand Atlantic built their name on, it simultaneously unlocks the door to a brand-new chapter of sonic exploration and songwriting maturity. A commanding melodic focus steers their characteristically ecstatic rock instrumentation, lacing the song with immediate, infectious hooks that mirror the rush of falling head-over-heels in love without a safety net. To complement the release, the band dropped a striking music video filmed inside the legendary walls of the Young Henrys brewery in Newtown, Sydney, showcasing their razor-sharp musicianship and undeniable performance chemistry.

Frontwoman Bonnie Fraser continues, “I’ve spent 10 years avoiding love songs and writing only about what ended in heartbreak. On ‘Velcro’, that curse is finally broken. It’s the most honest thing I’ve written in a long time - after a really intense period of writer’s block, so recording it live, raw and unfiltered felt like the only way to do it. The curse is officially broken, the gates are open, our lovergirl era is on, and ‘Velcro’ says you’re welcome.”

Originally dynamic hitmakers coming together out of Sydney in 2012, Stand Atlantic have steadily and intentionally developed into one of the most triumphant contemporary alternative music exports to ever come out of Australia. Their impressive trajectory spans from their definitive 2017 breakout EP Sidewinder through a stellar run of four critically acclaimed full-length studio albums: Skinny Dipping (2018), Pink Elephant (2020), f.e.a.r. (2022), and WAS HERE (2024). Along the way, the powerhouse four-piece has cultivated a fiercely loyal global community, accumulating upwards of 500 million streams across their impressive discography. Time and again, they have validated Kerrang!’s decision to crown them one of the “Hottest Rock Artists” on the planet, regularly securing Feature Album honors, #1 Most Played status, and Album of the Weekend titles across major tastemaker networks like triple j and BBC Radio 1. Their commercial impact is equally undeniable, spanning appearances on the Billboard genre charts, the UK Top 200, and the ARIA Top 10. Furthermore, their ARIA-Platinum certified smash single “Deathwish” featuring nothing, nowhere. continues to thrive with over 57 million streams, while their stunning triple j Like A Version performance of Juice WRLD’s “Righteous” earned a coveted spot in the inaugural triple j Like A Version Hottest 100 countdown.

This massive recorded success is mirrored by Stand Atlantic’s relentless touring schedule and an explosive live production that has solidified their reputation on the international stage. The group regularly sells out headline dates, moving tens of thousands of tickets across major markets in Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States. Their formidable live reputation has earned them direct support slots for heavyweight acts such as Sum 41, MOD SUN, ONE OK ROCK, A Day To Remember, and I Prevail, alongside prominent placements on massive global festival lineups including Spilt Milk, Good Things, Reading & Leeds, MAYDAY!, and Hanabie. presents DAIKAIHOU. Looking forward to another monumental calendar year on the road, the band is slated to take the stage at the highly anticipated 2026 Warped Tour in the United States, dominate the Slam Dunk festivals across the UK and Europe, and hit UK arenas as the primary supporting act for pop-punk icons Simple Plan.
