‘‘Sometimes it’s just good to leave the phone in the pocket and just go fucking nuts“ Franz Ferdinand’s lead singer Alex Kapranos said before the band launched into their 2004 hit ‘Take Me Out‘. Franz Ferdinand are a staple of the indie music scene. The Scottish indie rock band formed in Glasgow in 2002, originally consisting of Alex Kapranos (vocals/guitar), Bob Hardy (bass), Nick McCarthy (guitar/keyboards) and Paul Thomson (drums). Kapranos and Hardy remain in the band today, joined by Julian Corrie (keyboards/guitar), Dino Bardot (guitar) and Audrey Tait (drums), who came on board in 2021. The band is currently touring Europe and America on their ‘‘Greater Glasgow North American Cultural Exchange“ tour.
LIVE REVIEW + PHOTOS: ASHNIKKO AT THE O2 ACADEMY BRIXTON, LONDON 19/02/26 (+ AMELIA MOORE)
There are concerts that you attend, and then there are rooms that swallow you whole. On February 19, 2026, the O2 Academy Brixton didn't just host a show; it became a yonic portal into the "human realm" of Ashnikko. This was a 30th birthday celebration transformed into a mass-scale ritual - a high-concept "exorcism" of the sanitised, palatable world outside.

There is an old proverb in the corporate world that people don’t invest in businesses; they invest in people. On a cold Monday night in South London, 5,000 people didn't descend upon this landmark venue simply to hear catchy hooks; they were there to back Only The Poets, four human beings who have spent a decade refusing to sell their souls or price out their fans.
LIVE REVIEW + PHOTOS: THREE DAYS GRACE AT THE O2 ACADEMY BRIXTON, LONDON 13/12/25 (+ BADFLOWER)
Chants for "Three Days Grace" were so loud before they even made it to the stage. It’s wild to think this band started in a tiny 1500-person town in Ontario. They joked on stage about how you only had three options there: sports, music, or drugs. The guitarists mimicked each one, but I think we’re all glad they chose music.
