THE GREAT ESCAPE ANNOUNCES FIRST FIFTY 2027 LIVE SHOW LINE-UP
The Great Escape, widely recognized as the UK’s premier festival for emerging sounds, has officially revealed the artist line-up for FIRST FIFTY, the signature live launch event for its 2027 festival season. Scheduled for Thursday 12th November 2026, the launch will take over seven distinct venues in East London, introducing the very first wave of acts set to perform in Brighton next May.
FIRST FIFTY serves as a single-night celebration of fresh musical talent spanning the UK and international scenes, bringing fans face-to-face with rising acts in intimate capital settings. Covering a wide spectrum of genres, from indie, alternative, and punk to pop, electronic, and beyond, this year's launch presents 20 acts across seven iconic Hackney venues, providing a first look at the breakthrough talent of 2027. The schedule for THE GREAT ESCAPE FIRST FIFTY SHOWS on THURSDAY 12TH NOVEMBER highlights a series of curated showcases staged across East London, hosted in partnership with prominent UK tastemakers and music platforms.
At Oslo, the Ticketmaster New Music showcase features Belfast indie fusion group Esmeralda Road, London five-piece Xanadu, psychedelic rock and roll outfit Pack of Animals, and Irish singer-songwriter Jordan Joy. Meanwhile, DIY Neu Nights assumes control of Moth Club to host electro-acoustic trio Compost Compost Compost, Melbourne-based trip-hop trio Dumbhead, and alternative rockers Die Twice.
Over at the Shacklewell Arms, So Young curates an evening with Irish indie artist State of Grace, indie rock group Spanish Horses, and Scottish folk dream-pop act Angelface. Dork makes its return to the Sebright Arms with a bill that includes Leeds electronic noise-pop band Bathing Suits, Parisian post-punk quintet chest., and Bristol indie rock outfit Shrink.
Folklore hosts a Clash-presented lineup showcasing alternative rock trio Half Star, Welsh singer-songwriter Tesni, and Cardiff five-piece Casual Smart. At Paper Dress Vintage, BBC Introducing brings genre-blurring Walthamstow rapper simon a., rapper and producer J Casa, and Nigerian singer-songwriter Chiderah to the stage, with additional acts to be added to the billing. Rounding out the night, Ones to Watch presents a showcase featuring Nashville singer-songwriter Aubory Bugg, alt-pop artist Gianna, and Scottish singer-songwriter Abbie Gordon.
By distributing these performances across a select cluster of East London’s independent spaces, FIRST FIFTY gives audiences an exclusive look at the artists shaping the future landscape of music over the course of one evening.
Long established as an essential springboard for developing artists and a premier destination for talent discovery, The Great Escape remains the definitive festival for new music. The main event will host over 450 rising acts across more than 35 walkable venues, alongside the industry-focused TGE conference, officially opening the 2027 festival calendar from 12 – 15th May in Brighton, England.
