TROPIC GOLD DROP NEW SONG
Hailing from South East England, the three-piece band Tropic Gold has officially unleashed their latest single titled ‘sodium’. This fresh release marks their second offering under their new label partner, BLKIIBLK, arriving right on the heels of their June single ‘WITCH HOUSE’ (feat. Harpy).
“‘sodium’ is a story of two things being drawn together despite the destruction— two people, or one and something they can’t let go of,” share the band. “The element of sodium itself is in tears and sweat, what you can taste and feel in exhausting and painful situations. “Will you take that freak in me?” is the vulnerability at the centre of it - asking whether the unfiltered parts of you can be accepted. ‘sodium’ is knowing you’re falling, but craving the feeling enough to give in anyway.”
Refusing to sit comfortably in any single lane, Tropic Gold draw seamlessly from metalcore, industrial noise, electronic production, and modern alternative culture. Self-produced and fiercely self-driven, the South East England trio have built undeniable early momentum through a cocktail of huge hooks, abrasive electronics, and the kind of edge-of-your-seat volatility that makes every song feel like it could completely unravel at any given second.
Widespread support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, Kerrang!, and Rock Sound has propelled the group well beyond simple underground buzz. Meanwhile, hitting the road alongside heavy hitters like WARGASM, Resolve, Windwaker, and Normandie has quickly cemented their reputation as a genuinely impressive, high-energy live act rather than just another internet-heavy project.
The fresh material following last year’s ‘SICK TO DEATH OF EVERYTHING’ EP arrives sharper, heavier, and far more immediate, leaning heavily into harsh contrasts without ever sacrificing the underlying hooks that drive their sound.
Following a standout summer packed with triumphant appearances at Download Festival and a stage headline slot at 2000trees Festival, Tropic Gold are rapidly evolving beyond the tag of a promising new act and establishing themselves as a band properly breaking through into the mainstream alternative scene.
