TROPIC GOLD RETURN WITH NEW SINGLE
Essex trio Tropic Gold are maintaining their unstoppable momentum ahead of their highly anticipated appearance at Download Festival next month. The hotly-tipped three-piece have officially returned with their ferocious brand new single, ‘WITCH HOUSE’, which features a guest appearance from Harpy and marks the band's very first release under their new label partner, BLKIIBLK.
Delving into the darker thematic elements behind the track, the band explain the inspiration driving the music. “Witch House explores the all encompassing parasite of an external force consuming and trapping its victim,” share the band. “This force is experienced in many forms, Witch House addresses the relationship and connection between two people, one being the trapped, feeling they’re within a hex they cannot break.”
Musically, Tropic Gold masterfully pull from a chaotic blend of metalcore, industrial noise, electronic production, and modern alternative culture, consistently refusing to sit comfortably in any single genre lane. Entirely self-produced and creatively self-driven, the South East trio have generated massive early momentum through an unpredictable mix of huge melodic hooks, abrasive electronics, and the specific kind of sonic volatility that makes their songs feel like they could completely fall apart at any given second.
This uncompromising sound has already garnered significant support from major tastemakers including BBC Radio 1, Kerrang!, and Rock Sound, helping to push the band well beyond standard underground buzz. At the same time, high-profile tours alongside the likes of WARGASM, Resolve, Windwaker, and Normandie have quickly established them as a genuinely impressive, formidable live band rather than just another internet-heavy studio project.
The fresh material following last year’s ‘SICK TO DEATH OF EVERYTHING’ EP feels noticeably sharper, heavier, and more immediate, as the band lean even harder into jarring sonic contrasts without ever losing the infectious hooks underneath it all. With major appearances locked in for Download Festival alongside a prestigious stage headline slot at 2000trees Festival this summer, Tropic Gold are rapidly starting to feel less like a promising new act and more like a band properly breaking through into the heavy music mainstream.
