WATERPARKS SHARE SURPRISE SONG

Waterparks have dropped a surprise new track titled ‘ICE’ across all streaming platforms. The band initially teased the song on social media last week with the defiant caption: “FUCK ICE. NOT ON THE ALBUM, RECORDED LAST NIGHT.”
True to that statement, the track was written, recorded, and published within a single 24-hour window. It serves as a raw, immediate reaction from the band regarding the current political landscape and the surge of ICE raids across the U.S.
Unlike their typical projects, ‘ICE’ isn’t tied to a specific album cycle or marketing campaign. By bypassing the standard industry rollout, Waterparks prioritized urgency and directness, releasing the song as a real-time reflection of their anger and concern for targeted communities.
Frontman Awsten Knight released a statement explaining the necessity of the track and his frustration with the current state of the country: “If you know me at all, or follow me on any social media, you know how I feel about where the country is at. The extent to which Trump and his anonymous, kidnapper, murderer, incel, coward ICE agents have terrorized the nation has become so extreme that I felt like I couldn’t not release something like this. Sometimes it’s hard to know exactly how to help, and sharing resources is a great start, but I know we have a platform, and if I can change anyone’s minds, or reach younger people in exceedingly red households whose only window into the world is their parents, I wanna do that. I’m also happy people are hearing and sharing it, despite it being so heavily censored by the tech-right oligarchy, who have spent the last 2 years scooping up every social media platform for this exact reason. At the bare minimum, I hope it validates people’s feelings toward the situation and empowers people to get out and protest. Continue sharing information and stay safe.”
Waterparks is set to kick off the European leg of The Prowler Tour on March 7th in Germany. The tour will then weave through Belgium, France, and Holland before crossing over for the final stretch. The run concludes with the UK and Ireland dates, wrapping up in London on March 26th.
