British singer-songwriter YUNGBLUD has just unveiled his fourth studio album IDOLS, out now via Capital Records. Recorded in Leeds, just a few miles from his hometown, Yungblud’s new 12-track release stands as his most ambitious project to date. Choosing to stay close to his roots allowed him to cut out distractions and fully immerse himself in the creative process. “I wanted to make a project that didn’t focus on singles or anything else except feeling and world-building… A project with no limitations,” he explained. Titled Idols, the album marks the first half of a double album, with the second instalments release date still to come.

Joining Yungblud in bringing ‘Idols’ to life were producer Matti Schwartz, additional producer Bob Bradley, and guitarist Adam Warrington. The album will be available in multiple formats, including four exclusive special edition vinyl variants.

On Idols, Yungblud delves into the concept of hero-worship—how we often seek identity and validation through others, placing their lives on pedestals while neglecting the depth of our own. “We turn to others for an identity before turning to ourselves,” he explains. “Self-belief, self-reclamation, self-evolution, and change. As we grow up, we lose our belief in magic and mystery. We begin to rationalise everything; our cage walls build up.”

YUNGBLUD describes the album as, “A love letter to self-reclamation… to rock music… [and] to life; in all it’s f*cking madness.”

The 27-year old has also announced a 2026 UK and Ireland arena tour earlier this month, more info to be found here.

IDOLS out now via Capital Records, available on all streaming platforms.
