The highly acclaimed alternative rock powerhouse Against the Current has officially returned to the spotlight with the release of ‘Dead Man Walking.’ This explosive track serves as the second official single from their highly anticipated forthcoming studio album. The release arrives at a monumental time for the trio as they gear up to celebrate their 15th anniversary as a band. To mark a decade and a half together, the group is preparing for what promises to be their most ambitious and impactful year to date, complete with a massive wave of new music and a extensive global tour. ‘Dead Man Walking’ acts as a powerful catalyst for this next chapter, propelling the band forward into a bold creative era defined by the ferocious, emotionally charged vocal delivery of frontwoman Chrissy Costanza and some of the most deeply reflective, vulnerable songwriting Against the Current has ever produced.
The band offers a profound look into the heavy thematic inspiration behind the track, sharing: ““Dead Man Walking” is about how the cost of survival was the person you used to be. It explores the return home from war only to find that, although everything looks the same, you yourself are so deeply different that you no longer fit. There’s a stranger staring back at you in the mirror, the ghost of someone you once were. Everyone thinks you’re fine because you made it out alive, but they don’t realise you never really did,” shares the band.
In tandem with the single release, Against the Current has mapping out their live return with the announcement of a massive seventeen-date headlining tour across the United Kingdom and Europe this autumn. The upcoming run will see the trio storm through five highly anticipated dates in the UK, culminating in a landmark performance at London's iconic O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire, before they cross the channel to bring their high-energy production to audiences across mainland Europe.

Originally formed back in 2011 when vocalist Chrissy Costanza, guitarist Dan Gow, and drummer Will Ferri were just 15 years old, the band has successfully evolved from a passionate teenage project into one of modern alternative rock’s most resilient and enduring forces. Now in 2026, as they officially celebrate their 15th anniversary, Against The Current is confidently entering a defining new era of their career.
Following the massive breakout success of their acclaimed 2021 EP Fever, the trio made the pivotal decision to embrace total artistic independence, sparking a bold new chapter in their sonic evolution. Their 2024 independent singles ‘silent stranger,’ ‘blindfolded,’ and ‘good guy’ marked this creative shift with unaologetic energy and fierce authenticity, collectively amassing over 40 million streams worldwide. That incredible momentum continued to build with the release of ‘Heavenly’ on March 26, which served as the very first taste of their upcoming album. Next comes “Dead Man Walking” May 22, an explosive track with Chrissy’s vocal power on full display.
For over a decade, Against The Current has consistently electrified audiences across the globe, moving effortlessly from sold-out headline tours to major international festival stages, while simultaneously cultivating a fiercely loyal, worldwide fanbase. This Fall, the band is prepared to elevate their live show even further as they play some of their largest rooms yet across Europe and the United Kingdom.
