ARCTANGENT FESTIVAL 2026: NEW WAVE OF ACTS ANNOUNCED

The critically acclaimed and multi-award-winning ArcTanGent Festival is gearing up for its summer return, today unveiling a colossal expansion of its 2026 roster. Scheduled to descend upon Fernhill Farm near Bristol from August 19th to 22nd, the event continues to solidify its reputation as a premier global destination for heavy, experimental, and avant-garde sounds, a sonic melting pot spanning everything from math rock and post-rock to doom, metal, folk, and psych.
Leading today’s announcement is the monumental news that Arcane Roots have officially reformed. Following a seven-year hiatus, the band recently broke their silence with the new single 'A Wave. Across The Sea' and a fresh signing to Big Scary Monsters. In a major coup for the festival, their appearance at ATG (alongside 2000trees) will be a UK live exclusive. As one of the most relentlessly requested bands in the festival’s history, their main stage performance is already being touted as a landmark moment for the 2026 weekend.
The lineup also welcomes the meteoric rise of Manchester’s Maruja. After debuting at ATG in 2024 as a burgeoning new act, they return as one of the most vital and discussed bands in the UK scene. Joining them are the cinematic Nordic Giants, renowned for pairing ethereal post-rock soundscapes with immersive, breathtaking visuals.
The diversity of the bill is further bolstered by:
Nothing: The heavy-hitting US shoegaze outfit.
Eivør: The Faroese powerhouse, appearing as a 2026 UK exclusive.
Jamie Lenman: The quintessential gentleman of British rock.
Master Boot Record: The enigmatic, synth-driven multi-instrumentalist.
Pupil Slicer: London’s visceral math-core champions.
Papangu: Brazil’s premier avant-garde metal exports.
Reflecting on the strength of this year’s ticket sales and the new roster, festival organizer James Scarlett shared: "ArcTanGent 2026 is officially our best-selling edition by a country mile. We are absolutely buzzing to add another huge wave of artists, particularly those joining us for the first time like Eivør, Nothing, and Master Boot Record. One of the greatest joys of booking this festival is watching artists grow; seeing Maruja and Mass of the Fermenting Dregs climb the bill so rapidly after playing smaller slots just a few years ago is incredible. And, of course, the return of Arcane Roots—having them back exclusively after seven years is going to be a truly special moment for all of us."
These new names join an already formidable lineup headlined by Chelsea Wolfe, Primus, and the 10th-anniversary performance of 'Mariner' by Cult of Luna & Julie Christmas. The full bill features heavyweights such as Igorrr, Sikth, Napalm Death, Perturbator, and Chat Pile, ensuring 2026 will be the most ambitious ArcTanGent to date.
