COLDRAIN DEBUT NEW SINGLE

Japanese rock powerhouse coldrain unleashes their electrifying new single ‘Chasing Shadows’, just in time for their upcoming tour and festival appearances across Germany this August. Driven by the unmistakable vocal intensity of frontman Masato, the track channels a potent fusion of melody and aggression, showcasing the band’s signature sound with raw emotion delivered in both English and Japanese.
With its hard-hitting appeal to both metal and rock fans, ‘Chasing Shadows’ solidifies coldrain’s status as one of the most compelling forces in global rock. The release follows their March single, ‘INCOMPLETE.’
Vocalist Masato shares about the new song: ”This song was inspired by tales of people who questioned the values and rules they were given, and try to find the truth for themselves. I wanted to share how important it is to explore + understand each other, instead of easily moving toward conflict or anger. Even if the world feels closed off, the fire inside us can’t be put out. It’s a message to keep taking small steps forward, even when we feel lost.”
The Japanese rock heavyweights have also officially announced their Japan Tour for September and October, titled OPTIMIZE, hinting at a larger vision tied to their upcoming EP of the same name, due out this fall. With two singles already released - most recently the explosive ‘Chasing Shadows’ - the OPTIMIZE branding now extends across their global tour plans, including their newly unveiled European headline tour this fall. More details on the EP are expected in the coming weeks.
The release of ‘Chasing Shadows’ coincides with the band’s high-profile festival and headliner run through Germany, including appearances at major events like Rocco del Schlacko, Summer Breeze, and Reload Festival. coldrain will then return to Europe for a 17-date headline tour across the UK and continent, hitting cities such as London, Paris, Amsterdam, Prague, Berlin, and Warsaw. As part of the broader OPTIMIZE campaign, the tour is expected to feature live debuts of tracks from the forthcoming EP, giving fans a first taste of what’s next from one of Japan’s most commanding rock exports.
