FLORENCE + THE MACHINE ANNOUNCES SIXTH STUDIO ALBUM

Copyright: Autumn de Wilde

Florence Welch, the visionary force behind Florence + the Machine, has announced the release of her sixth studio album, Everybody Scream, arriving 31 October. The album’s haunting title track debuts today alongside a video directed by Autumn de Wilde. Pre-orders for the album are available here.

Written and produced over the past two years, Everybody Scream is the product of an intimate creative process with longtime collaborators, including Mark Bowen of IDLES - who also appears in the music video - as well as Aaron Dessner and Mitski.

The album follows a period of intense transformation for Welch. After undergoing life-saving surgery during the Dance Fever tour, she was drawn deeper into themes of spiritual mysticism, folk horror, and witchcraft. This period of reckoning - both physical and emotional - shaped the heart of Everybody Scream, as Welch confronted mortality, femininity, aging, and the eerie beauty of everyday life. It is a record that lives in the shadows, peeling back the layers of the mundane to reveal something raw, surreal, and deeply human.

Spanning a career defined by bold artistry and emotional depth, Florence Welch has released five critically acclaimed albums - Lungs (2009), Ceremonials (2011), How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful (2015), High As Hope (2018), and Dance Fever (2022). She has earned multiple #1 albums in both the UK and US, headlined festivals across the globe, and captivated audiences with her spellbinding live performances. A singular voice of her generation, she’s collaborated with artists like The Rolling Stones, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift, and released a book of poetry, lyrics, and illustrations titled Useless Magic.
