HOT MILK UNLEASH NEW ALBUM
Manchester-based HOT MILK have just unleashed their sophomore album, Corporation P.O.P. today, with new single ‘Sympathy Symphony’.
"Collective pain, personal fear and it's place in modernity is everything that is encapsulated in Corporation P.O.P. The payment of pain we all must make in the world we currently live." says Han Mee. "This album is essentially everything we see and are afraid of, from a macro sphere looking out to our twisted nervous system that takes the burden. An album that was captured fully Analogue to feel as raw and visceral as the subject matter at hand."
Produced by the band's own Jim Shaw, with Zach Jones and KJ Strock, Hot Milk’s Corporation P.O.P. is a bold, unapologetic reckoning with a chaotic world, delivered through a sharply British lens that’s both searingly witty and universally resonant.
For vocalist Han Mee, whose background in politics shapes much of the album’s intent, Corporation P.O.P. is a vessel for channeling global frustration and righteous anger. “I’ve always felt like a white knight – like it’s my duty to save the world somehow,” Han says. “I’m constantly affected by what’s going on around us. I actually wanted to be an MEP—that was the dream.”
While the album speaks to global unrest, its soul is rooted in Manchester and Salford. Every music video was filmed there—deliberately—anchoring the project in the place where the band was born. “Newt Gingrich once said ‘All politics is local,’” Han reflects. “I try to stay engaged on a local level because that’s where I feel I can make the most difference. That’s how I stay grounded when the world feels overwhelming.”
Manchester remains at the heart of everything Hot Milk create. After briefly relocating to Los Angeles, Han made the decision to return home. “Manchester is the best f**king city in the world,” she says, visibly emotional. “We started this band here. It’s part of me, part of my identity. It has to bleed into the art—because it helped shape it.”
The outfit have also announced a series of signings and acoustic shows in celebration of the albums release.
