HOT MULLIGAN ANNOUNCE FOURTH ALBUM AND NEW SINGLE

Post-emo outfit Hot Mulligan have officially announced their highly anticipated fourth full-length album, The Sound a Body Makes When It’s Still, set for release on August 22, 2025 via Wax Bodega.

Marking their first new material since 2022’s Why Would I Watch, the band returns with the new single ‘And a Big Load’, out today alongside an accompanying video. The track is a gritty yet melodic burst of everything fans love about Hot Mulligan - off-kilter humour, emotionally raw lyrics, and a sound that balances chaos with clarity. A bold, punk-infused rager that sets the emotional and sonic tone for The Sound a Body Makes When It’s Still.

The single offers the first taste of the upcoming LP, which promises to push their already dynamic blend of emo, pop-punk, and post-hardcore even further. With a title as visceral as The Sound a Body Makes When It’s Still, the album hints at themes of inner tension, emotional paralysis, and the quiet noise of being alive.

“It’s the consequences of your own actions. You could face them; you could avoid them entirely,” shares co-vocalist and guitarist Chris Freeman. “Our biggest conflicts and struggles are often self inflicted. Drink too much? Hangover. What did you say last night? Apologize… or don’t. You could commit suicide instead. You could commit to being sober. You could commit to drinking one million beers. At the end of the day it’ll all be left for you to deal with. It’s terrifying.”
