Texas-based breakout band I Promised The World have officially signed to Rise Records and announced their upcoming self-titled EP, due out 16 January 2026.
The first single, ‘Bliss in 7 Languages,’ which arrives with a video, harkens to the early-2000s post-hardcore era while melding in screamo and Midwest emo, refracted through the digital chaos of the internet age, equal parts nostalgia and new-world anxiety.
Speaking on the signing, the band shared: "It’s an unreal feeling to be signed to Rise, a label that has history with many of the bands that have inspired us along the way. We hope this record connects to both old and new listeners by giving nostalgia and an improved version of our sound.”
Produced by Jon Markson (Drug Church, DRAIN, Stay Inside) and Adam Cichocki, the band - whose oldest member is just 21 - channel a sound that feels both rediscovered and redefined, shaped as much by message-board deep dives and YouTube rips as it is by the raw, unfiltered emotion that first defined the genres.
Born out of tragedy, I Promised The World began after vocalist/guitarist Caleb Molina lost his father to COVID in 2020. Though the band, rounded out by vocalist Hunter Wilson, drummer Mason Zschau, guitarist Mason Nowlin, and bassist Aidan Vickers, didn’t officially form until 2023, its roots are deeply tied to that loss. From the start, I Promised The World has served as both an outlet and an extension of Molina’s grief. Yet, as their upcoming self-titled EP reveals, the band now stands not just as a reflection of pain, but as a celebration of life and resilience, a tribute to his father’s memory and spirit.
In just two short years, the Texas five-piece have already made a name for themselves, sharing stages with Deafheaven, Midrit, and Koyo, and cementing their place as one of the most emotionally charged new voices in alternative music.
