Prepare to meet your next musical obsession. Emerging from the vibrant northern music scene, the audacious Manchester-based alternative rock outfit SerpentS have officially arrived, marking their grand entrance today with the release of their uncompromising debut single, ‘Nerve.’

An explosive sonic statement of intent, ‘Nerve’ is a track that refuses to play nice, diving headfirst into raw themes of personal assertion, boundary-setting, and sweet retribution. Driven by the formidable dual-vocal attack of bassist/vocalist Eli and vocalist Cerys, the single highlights a band operating with a level of commanding musicianship and tight, heavy synergy that usually takes years to cultivate.

To accompany this fierce introduction, SerpentS have also unveiled a brilliantly chaotic and highly entertaining official music video. The visual showcases the band's magnetic performance style, cleverly juxtaposed with tongue-in-cheek footage of the members powering through a vibrant, 1980s-inspired workout routine in full retro gear.

While the chemistry of SerpentS feels remarkably fresh, the deep-running bond between band members Eli, Cerys, Josh, and Kian is anything but new. Having spent years honing their craft and sharing stages in various iterations, this moment represents the first time the four-piece feels completely aligned, electrified, and ready to unleash their collective vision onto the global stage.

Regarding the fiery spirit behind their debut release, the band shares: “We wanted our debut as SerpentS to be unignorable and bold. Nerve is a gutpunch first single and demands all eyes on us. It is a cathartic rage anthem, calling out small people with big egos.”

SerpentS are clearly not interested in a slow burn. Alongside today's single release, the band has thrillingly mapped out their immediate future with the announcement of their highly anticipated debut EP, titled Let Loose & Join A Cult!

The EP will compile the relentless energy of ‘Nerve’ alongside six brand-new, completely unheard tracks that promise to showcase the full depth of their songwriting. Fans can expect a steady trickle of new music and creative drops from the EP throughout the rest of the year, so listeners are encouraged to keep their eyes peeled for incoming announcements.

Hailing from the historic musical breeding ground of Manchester, these four best friends have already built an impressive live reputation. They have successfully sold out headline shows, packed out sweaty festival tents, and shared prestigious touring stages with heavy-hitting contemporary acts such as Mouth Culture, Crawlers, Au/Ra, and more.

Looking forward, SerpentS are poised to keep up this incredible momentum. They have been tapped to support indie-pop icons Pale Waves at their highly anticipated, self-curated festival at Manchester's Untitled Studio on 11th September. Following that landmark performance, the band will return home in November to celebrate their EP release with a massive headline show of their own. Specific details for this hometown headliner will be officially announced in the coming weeks.

In a testament to their undeniable talent, the band's very first official studio session as SerpentS took place alongside key members of two of their biggest musical influences: Manchester's own rock stalwarts Pale Waves and the acclaimed American pop-rock trio Pvris. Having grown up admiring these trailblazing artists, the band describes the writing experience as an incredibly surreal, bucket-list milestone that they will never take for granted. This high-profile creative collision yielded a spectacular, currently unreleased track that is confirmed to appear on the forthcoming EP.

The foundation of SerpentS was built on pure dedication and shared struggle. Having first met during their college days, the band mates began writing and playing music together almost immediately. To ensure they could create without interruption, they squeezed their lives and gear into a tiny, cramped studio flat, writing tirelessly day in and day out. Their obsession with the craft even led them to frequently ditch their college classes to pen songs in their dark basement.

It was during this highly transformative and chaotic period of self-discovery that the group began noticing an overwhelming presence of snake symbolism constantly appearing in their daily lives. Recognizing these recurring signs as a powerful message from the universe to embrace their evolution, they officially christened themselves SerpentS, and the rest is history in the making.
