KANADIA RELEASE NEW SINGLE

Kanadia have unveiled their latest single, ‘I Can’t Feel The Sunlight’, lifted from their upcoming album The Fire That’s Tearing Through Our Home, set for release on 26 September.

The track is a driving, atmospheric slice of indie rock, echoing the widescreen textures of The War On Drugs and the shimmering edge of Wolf Alice. Lyrically, it carries a message of hope and acceptance - about discovering light amid the dark and learning to live with the things you can’t control. As frontman, guitarist, and songwriter James Bettis puts it: “This track feels like the most uplifting moment on our upcoming album. I remember staying up all night experimenting with these chords which had this hopeful, open quality to them. A lot of our songs have been born out of wrestling with mental health, using music as a kind of sounding board to process the weight of things. But with this one I felt something different—like I could finally let go, a sort of ‘what will be, will be’ feeling.

Something I really needed to learn was that there are a lot of things in life you can and can’t control, and this song was my way of telling myself that. It also became a turning point for us creatively. With Chris Barker guiding the production, we discovered a new dynamic that gave the song its airy, uplifting energy.”

Kanadia’s forthcoming record, The Fire That’s Tearing Through Our Home, marks the Oxford quartet’s third full-length release. Alongside frontman James Bettis, the band features Melissa Marshall (synth/keys), Tim Lucas (drums), and Everton Barbato (bass).

Recorded at Evolution Recording Studios in their hometown and produced by Chris Barker (guitarist for Willie J. Healey), the album was later mixed by Tom Leach (Lewis Capaldi, Pa Salieu, Spiritualized) at Snap Studios in London.

The result is a 50-minute journey through dreamlike soundscapes, soaring hooks, and haunting melodies. Expansive and immersive, the album captures both the fragility and the beauty of human emotion, cementing Kanadia’s reputation for crafting music that resonates on a deeply atmospheric level.
