For any fanbase, four years is a serious amount of time to be waiting for new music. Since 2022’s Scoring the End of the World, Motionless in White have left fans hanging, but the wait is over. Latest single, ‘Afraid Of The Dark’ hails the next epoch of the Pennsylvania Goth Metallers and they have thrown all caution to the wind and headed out on a UK and EU tour, solely based on this 4 minutes of new material. They're keen, we're keen - bring on the theatrics.

In opening support, Aussie metalcore outfit, Make Them Suffer demand mosh pits from the first notes of ‘Ghost Of Me’ tearing up the great hall of Alexandra Palace with gusto with the simple instructions of - “London, get the fuck up”. Keyboardist and singer Alex Reade's vocals absolutely haunting in the echoing Ally Pally arena.

Under the imposing ‘M T S’ of their backdrop, the metalcore quintet absolutely filled the room with stomping riffs and guttural screams.

Last time Make Them Suffer were in London it was on their own headliner at The Islington Academy. The scale of this stage is a vastly different beast but Make them Suffer are able to adapt to this and use all the extra space to their advantage, it actually feels like more of a natural home for their sound.

“You having fun out there London? Do me a favour - get them hands up”. Frontman Sean Harmanis requested for 'Epitaph' and the crowd responded in kind.

Up next, the Dayseeker experience rolled into town kicking off with ‘Pale Moonlight’ and the singalongs started immediately. The last time Dayseeker were on this particular stage it was in support of Pierce the Veil in 2024 and since then the band are another album deep.

“How we fucking feeling London, who wants to hear a brand-new fucking song?” singer Rory Rodriguez asked rhetorically, launching into ‘Shapeshift’ which was released in October as part of the band's latest album 'Creature in the Black Night’. This new offering from the band providing one of the most brutal breakdowns of the set.

Taking it down a notch for ‘Burial Plot’ and requesting phone lights up in the air, Dayseeker demonstrated a more chill side of their sound. Although all their tracks include an aspect of Rodriguez's clean and soaring vocals, this song puts that front and centre.

“I haven't seen one goddamn mosh pit entire set. that needs to change right now”. Rodriguez demanded and the band brought the energy back for ‘Bloodlust’. Dayseeker have cemented themselves as central to the modern metalcore genre, with the industry support to back that up.

As tolling bells rang out across Ally Pally and the bizarre spinning cat opening credits concluded, Motionless in White greeted their biggest ever London crowd with an early onslaught of pyro and an appearance from the feisty Cherry Bombs dance troupe welding flame throwers. Starting as they meant to go on the drama and energy was a 10/10 from the opening notes of ‘Meltdown’.

Bathed in green light, the set really got going with the Cherry Bombs returning, this time with sparking angle grinders as frontman Chris Cerulli yelled across the expanse, “When I count to four, this entire floor goes up and down. This one is called ‘Sign of Life’”.

Cerulli then took a second to humble himself in front of the room, “I'm just gonna stare at you guys for a second is that okay? It is Valentine's Day after all, I just wanna adore you.” Motionless in White are that stereotype of alternative people who look scary as hell but are actually the sweetest souls, the sincerity of Cerulli's appreciation obvious.

'A-M-E-R-I-C-A' followed, a prime example of the political angle that some Motionless in White songs lean into, it was also a massive sing-along moment.

"If you've been looking for a moment to lose your goddamn minds, this is it!" Cerulli announced for 'Voices' from the 2017 album Graveyard Shift. Not that anyone had been waiting for an excuse but the energy certainly trended upwards at this point.

Cerulli then took a moment to acknowledge the enormity of the shows they've recently been undertaking. Their German date in Dusseldorf, the AO arena in Manchester and this show at Ally Pally are the biggest venues the band have played not only in Europe but also including US dates. The band then shout out The Underworld in Camden where they played in 2016 as part of their beyond the barricade tour, the intimate 500-cap venue a world away from the scale of tonight's show.

"We've been a band for 20 years, so we'd like to play you a song that represents that journey" Cerulli introduced the newest single - 'Afraid Of The Dark', the song which lends itself to the name of the tour. This track an impressive display of the amalgamation of the last 20 years of experience this band have accumulated.

‘Werewolf’ from the 2022 album Scoring the End of the World saw the band lean heavily into the theatrics as the music video plays on the screens behind. This song a definite fan favourite, just as much as the ruckus 'Necessary Evil', a track originally recorded with Jonathan Davis of Korn. This song saw the return of the Cherry Bombs and their sparking angle grinders.

"We put this one on the setlist just for you, this is called ‘City Lights’" Cerulli beamed, launching into the throwback track from their 2010 debut album 'Creatures'.

As calls for more circle pits for 'Soft' and the formidable lyrics of ‘'You're mine Motherfucker’' flashed up on screen behind, at this point in the set, the room at large absolutely lost it shit.

As the snow that had filled the room for 'Another Life' settled and Motionless in White finished the evening with 'Eternally Yours', the sense of anticipation for what's next filled the air. With the upcoming full album set to be released at some point in 2026, fans can rest easy in the knowledge that they won't have to wait too long for their next dose of Motionless in White madness, on record at least, and hopefully in person again very soon.
