LIVE REVIEW + PHOTOS: THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA AT THE ELECTRIC BRIXTON, LONDON 23/10/26

In 2025, when The Devil Wears Prada were in London last, it was at the 800 cap Islington Academy. In 2026 the Ohio band were back at Electric Brixton, filling a room of 1500 for their Flowers EU/UK tour, celebrating the latest album that has taken a step forward in sound, lyricism and atmosphere.

“It’s Friday night!” frontman Mike Hranica reminded London, “Give me a huge circle pit” he requested from the off and the night got going with ‘Where the Flowers Never Grow’, seminal track from the new album. Leading with more mellow vibes than the metallers formative style, Flowers is a bold corner-turn for a band with a fanbase loyal to their heavier sound.

After ‘So Low’ we are taken back in time to the earlier, heavier days with ‘Danger: Wildman’, and the band's MySpace screamo days.

‘Watchtower’, ‘Salt’ and ‘Broken’ from 2022 album Colour Decay is clearly a favourite era for the majority of fans gathered, with a stream of crowd surfers non-stop over the barrier into the arms of the somewhat shocked security staff.

Starting their evolution in 2005, the brand of Metalcore that The Devil Wears Prada have existed within has undoubtedly changed, with more of a purely heavy style to begin with, through electronic elements and now with Flowers, a more pop lead sound. ‘Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord’ from 2006 was where it all began, and 20 years later, the 2026 version of the band may sound far from this, however, the development has felt natural.

“The year was 2010 this song is called outnumbered” Hranica winked before the zombie inspired track tore the room a new one. Steering back towards the new album, with ‘Ritual’ and ‘When You're Gone’, Hranica praised the energy in the room and grinned, “Crowd surfing during the instrumentals- I fucking love you guys”

Taking a moment to reminisce about the band's connection to A Day To Remember- the excitement is surely building for the lucky ticket holders that have access to the 2027 sold out ‘Big ole boat show’, ADTR’s much anticipated cruise show, which The Devil Wears Prada will be along for the ride for.

With a killer duo to end the night with ‘Chemical’ and ‘Sacrifice’, the Devil Wears Prada executed a show that added a stylistic diversity not seen before, something for everyone and everyone was onboard for the journey.
