A sold-out O2 Forum Kentish Town was packed for an explosive night of post-hardcore and metalcore, headlined by Ohio’s The Plot In You and joined by a powerhouse supporting lineup: Cane Hill, Saosin, and Currents. The evening offered a full experience, from nostalgia-infused anthems to feral breakdowns and moments of vulnerability.

Getting this special night started were New Orleans’ own Cane Hill, who wasted no time unleashing pure chaos with ‘Power of the High’, ‘Finding Euphoria’, and ‘Permanence in Sleep.’ Frontman Elijah Witt prowled the stage with energy, commanding the London crowd with a mix of clean vocals, guttural growls and southern swagger. “You’re gonna make Glasgow look like a bunch of sleepy babies,” he taunted mid-set, the audience already getting busy with mosh pits and crowdsurfing.

By ‘Drowning Therapy’ and ‘Fade,’ the Forum was a sea of hands swaying and bodies already surfing overhead. Witt joked, “I’ll be by the merch stand so you can tell me how much you loved the set - or how much you hated it,” but judging by the cheers, there were no haters in sight. Cane Hill’s brand of emotional metalcore really set the tone perfectly for the rest of the night.

When Californian post-hardcore veterans Saosin took the stage, the reaction was instantaneous. A roar erupted as they launched into ‘Sleepers’, ‘Collapse’, and ‘Bury Your Head.’ It was a full-blown nostalgia trip, as fans relived the band’s 2000s glory days.

“Holy shit London, how are you feeling? You’re not fucking around, that’s for sure,” frontman Cove Reber shouted, his enthusiasm matched by a visibly thrilled crowd. The set leaned heavily on their self-titled album, celebrating its 20th anniversary - something Reber couldn’t resist poking fun at: “That makes Saosin fans old.” During the beloved ‘You’re Not Alone,’ the Forum was illuminated by a sea of phone torches, while ‘Seven Years’ ended their set in pure catharsis, complete with a circle pit and loud singalong. Saosin hinted that a new album is halfway done, and promised they’d be back next year.

Connecticut metalcore outfit Currents brought a darker, more modern edge to the night. With ‘Living in Tragedy’ and ‘Rise & Fall,’ they ignited the pit, delivering sharp breakdowns, guttural growls and soaring choruses in equal measure. Brian Wille’s vocals swung effortlessly between aggression and melody, while guitarists Ryan Castaldi and Chris Wiseman kept the energy electric throughout the set.

Crowdsurfers poured over the barrier song after song as Wille roared, “London, it’s been amazing - thank you so much for your energy.” The closer, ‘Better Days,’ left the crowd bruised, breathless, and absolutely grinning.

By the time The Plot In You took the stage, anticipation had reached fever pitch. Opening with a Mario Kart theme blasting through the speakers, the Ohio quartet made a theatrical entrance before plunging into ‘Don’t Look Away.’ Smoke filled the stage as Landon Tewers stood alone up front, his distorted vocals haunting the crowded room while the rest of the band played from the higher platform, overseeing the sold-out crowd.

The energy surged through ‘Divide’ and ‘Pretend,’ with Tewers pleased at the sight of the steady stream of crowdsurfers making their way forward. “Bring me more of those,” he urged, before launching into ‘Paradigm.’

When ‘The One You Loved’ and ‘Face Me’ hit, the Forum transformed into a choir of voices: a testament to just how deeply ‘Face Me’ resonates with fans. Later, during “Silence,” Tewers performed solo on acoustic guitar under the soft glow of a lamp, before the rest of the band joined in, creating one of the night’s highlights.

The emotional intensity peaked with ‘Forgotten.’ As confetti burst through the venue, something in the room shifted. Tewers kept silent as the crowd screamed the words in unison to fill the void, created a powerful moment: absolute goosebumps. “No standing still,” he demanded moments later, and no one dared to disobey, with even more crowdsurfers being brought forward.

Closing with ‘Spare Me,’ ‘Closure,’ and ‘Time Changes Everything,’ The Plot In You balanced chaos and catharsis perfectly. “London, you’re all psychos! Keep it going!” Tewers laughed before ending on ‘Left Behind’, a massive singalong drowned in more confetti and emotion.

“Thank you so much for coming - this has been crazy,” he said, visibly moved. As the final notes of ‘FEEL NOTHING’ rang out, the O2 Forum was left in awe, drenched in sweat.

A memorable sold-out night that felt like both a celebration and a purge. Cane Hill brought the breakdowns, Saosin the nostalgia, Currents the intensity, and The Plot In You the emotion.
