ROSALÍA RELEASES NEW ALBUM
Catalan pop sensation Rosalía has released her new album LUX, out now via Columbia Records. The highly anticipated follow-up to MOTOMAMI landed a few hours early, following last week’s preview of its only pre-release single, ‘Berghain,’ featuring Björk and Yves Tumor.
The Spanish superstar premiered the album live last night in her hometown of Barcelona, giving fans an early taste of the new era. Recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra, LUX features an impressive roster of collaborators, including Carminho, Estrella Morente, Silvia Pérez Cruz, Yahritza, and the Escolania de Montserrat i Cor Cambra Palau de la Música Catalana, alongside Björk and Yves Tumor.
On October 27, Rosalía unveiled ‘Berghain,’ her collaboration with Björk and Yves Tumor. The track sees Rosalía blending operatic vocals in both German and Spanish, while Björk and Yves Tumor contribute hauntingly atmospheric verses in English.
In the accompanying music video, Rosalía performs alongside a full orchestra while carrying out everyday routines, ironing clothes, making her bed, and riding public transit, before the visuals dissolve into a Snow White–inspired dreamscape, complete with singing animals and surreal, fairytale imagery.
