Having achieved everything she had spent a lifetime fighting to secure - a UK Top 10 album, sustained sobriety, love, a family, and an undeniable second chance at a music career - RØRY unexpectedly found herself confronting a dark, familiar force she believed she had long since left behind.
Out today, her stunning second album BLOODLETTING emerges directly from that struggle. The record stands as an unfiltered, fearless exploration of grief, rage, mortality, and the complex reality of what it means to be alive. Produced alongside her long-term collaborators KINGDOMS, with additional production and mixing handled by Dan Lancaster (Bring Me The Horizon, Muse), the release expands RØRY’s sound into significantly heavier territory while carefully preserving the visceral, unvarnished honesty that forms the bedrock of her songwriting. At the very core of this project lies a singular, haunting question: do you want to die, or do you want to live?
This beautiful yet devastating work takes listeners through catharsis in its most absolute form. Slated for release on 4th September 2026, the album tracks a dramatic shift in her artistry, turning her alluring vulnerability into her most daring sonic experiment to date.
Speaking on the announcement, RØRY shares: “I realised I was sick from being nice. I’d spent so much of my life being the bigger person, forgiving people, understanding people, making excuses for people. I’d become disconnected from huge parts of myself. BLOODLETTING was about reclaiming them.”
Alongside her brand-new anthem 'STRANGE', the tracking list brings together all of her recent hit singles, including 'DEGRADATION', 'DEAD GIRL WALKING', and 'KIDS THESE DAYS'.
The album asks difficult questions about what happens when your greatest dreams finally come true, yet the underlying grief persists. It probes what occurs when physical wounds close, but deep-seated anger remains trapped beneath the surface, and how mortality, loss, and heartbreak endure regardless of personal progress.
For most of her career, RØRY felt comfortable giving voice to sadness, whereas anger remained entirely off-limits. As intense therapy pushed her to face decades of buried feelings, she came face-to-face with emotional states she had spent a lifetime running from: rage, resentment, jealousy, revenge, and even hatred. These were dangerous impulses that had never previously surfaced within her creative work.
The album title serves as an ideal metaphor for this internal reckoning. Historically, bloodletting was an ancient medical practice designed to drain blood from a patient to cure systemic illness; for RØRY, the process became a spiritual imperative, a vital purging of everything held under the surface for far too long.
This release represents the heaviest, most ambitious, and most expansive sonic landscape of her journey so far. Rejoining forces with Kingdoms alongside Dan Lancaster, RØRY continuously pushed her creative boundaries. Drawing inspiration from the immense weight of modern heavy music and fueled by a drive to evolve, she began taking vocal lessons and learned to scream for the first time, discovering a powerful new language capable of expressing intensity that clean vocals simply could not capture.
