Manchester-based alt-rock outfit SerpentS have today officially unleashed their vibrant new single, ‘Midnight Murderess.’ The track is described by the band as, “A fun, glamorous hype song to kill your ex-lover to. It’s seductive and unserious, like playing with your food before you eat it.” Driven by playful harmonies and lively guitars, the release effortlessly fuses 2000s nostalgia with modern rock sensibilities to deliver a track that makes a bold bid for the ultimate Song of the Summer.

"Midnight Murderess" arrives hot on the heels of their defiant debut single, ‘Nerve,’ an audacious track that explores themes of assertion and retribution, accompanied by a fun, 80’s-inspired video. Both releases offer a compelling preview of what is to come from the fast-rising group as they build momentum toward their next major chapter.

The alt-rock band recently announced their debut EP, Let Loose & Join A Cult. The triumphant body of work will be released later in the Autumn and will feature latest singles "Midnight Murderess" and "Nerve" alongside five unheard tracks. New music will be dropping from the EP throughout the year, so fans should keep their eyes peeled for continuous updates.

Hailing from Manchester, the four best friends have already built an impressive reputation on the circuit, having sold out headline shows, filled out festival tents, and toured alongside established acts like Mouth Culture, Crawlers, Au/Ra, and more. Looking ahead, SerpentS are set to support Pale Waves at their self-curated festival at Untitled Studio in Manchester on 11th September, before taking the stage for their own headline show at Soup in Manchester on 14th November.

Their very first studio session as SerpentS just so happened to be with members of two of their favourite bands: Manchester rockers Pale Waves and American pop/rock trio PVRIS. Considering they grew up listening to these artists, it was a deeply surreal experience for the group, but one they will never take for granted. The end result of that collaboration was a currently unreleased track that is set to appear on the band’s forthcoming EP.

The members of the band first met at college and started playing music together almost instantly. They even squeezed into a studio flat until they could find a proper house, purely so that they could write together every single day, with the four-piece frequently skipping their college lessons to write songs in their basement instead. SerpentS was officially born during a very transformative time of their lives when they were constantly being met with lots of snake symbolism. Taking this as a clear sign from the universe to become SerpentS, the rest quickly became history. Despite having played music together for years both on and off stage, this marks the first time Eli, Cerys, Josh, and Kian feel genuinely excited and truly ready to share their creation with the rest of the world.
