SHINEDOWN, one of the biggest rock bands in the world, have released their brand-new single ‘Searchlight’, out now via Atlantic Records. The track signals the beginning of a new chapter for the multi-platinum group, following a landmark year that included sold-out arena shows, record-breaking chart achievements, and a historic debut at the Grand Ole Opry.

‘Searchlight’ was first unveiled live during the band’s Opry debut last month, where fans packed the iconic venue and the song quickly became the night’s most talked-about moment. Introducing the track, frontman Brent Smith told the audience: “Sometimes when you listen close enough to the universe and you’re willing to receive something from it- a song can come out of thin air. We didn’t find this one, it found us.”

Written by Brent Smith, Eric Bass, and Dave Bassett, and produced by Eric Bass at his Big Animal Studio in Charleston, SC, ‘Searchlight’ blends the emotional weight and anthemic energy that define SHINEDOWN’s sound with fresh sonic elements befitting the Opry’s stage. The accompanying music video, filmed in Nashville the day after their Opry debut, features the band performing live with instruments including pedal steel guitar and banjo, showcasing both their musicianship and the song’s emotional punch

2025 has already been a standout year for SHINEDOWN. ‘Searchlight’ follows their global hit ‘Three Six Five,’ which dominated multiple radio formats, including #1 at Alternative, Top 10 at Hot AC and AC, and Top 20 at Top 40. They also released ‘Dance, Kid, Dance’ and ‘Killing Fields,’ both of which reached #1, further solidifying their radio dominance. SHINEDOWN currently hold the record for the most #1 songs in the history of Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Chart (21), as well as the most #1s on the Mediabase Active Rock Chart (24), along with the most Top 5 and Top 10 entries ever.

This year also marked another major milestone: SHINEDOWN sold out and performed at Madison Square Garden for the first time as part of their Dance, Kid, Dance arena tour. The band donated $1 from every ticket sold to Musicians On Call, resulting in a $300,000 contribution that helped launch a new bedside music program with HCA Florida Healthcare. Brent Smith and Zach Myers performed at the program’s kickoff event. Earlier in 2025, the band also took home multiple iHeartRadio Awards, reinforcing their status as one of today’s most impactful rock acts.

SHINEDOWN recently announced their first-ever curated festival, Shinedown’s Lunatic Ball Beach Weekend, taking place October 23–25, 2026, in Miramar Beach, FL. The three-day destination event will feature sets from SHINEDOWN (two headlining performances), BUSH, Hanson, Flyleaf (with Lacey Sturm), Living Colour, From Ashes to New, Guardians of the Jukebox, Neon Mooners, and more. Tickets and details are available at shinedown.com.

Up next, the band will join the 2025 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour Presented by Capital One, with performances on December 2 at Dickies Arena (Fort Worth, TX), December 8 at Allstate Arena (Rosemont, IL), December 9 at Little Caesars Arena (Detroit, MI), and December 16 at Capital One Arena (Washington, D.C.).
