British rockers SKUNK ANANSIE have released their brand new album The Painful Truth, today May 23, along with a new single ‘Shame’. Produced by David Sitek of TV On The Radio, The Painful Truth is a bold, textured, and uplifting album. It’s a fresh and honest statement, showcasing Skunk Anansie’s ability to craft massive pop anthems.
Marking their first release on the newly launched FLG Records, the album is a captivating, thought-provoking, and emotionally charged album. It captures Skunk Anansie in a moment of deep self-reflection, confronting their identity and future direction. More than just a title, it represents a lived experience - one that has resonated powerfully with listeners and earned widespread critical acclaim.
“When I really think about it, yes, we have made some good records in our time but it’s been a long time since we have made a great album. And that is the painful truth,” confesses vocalist Skin. “Understanding that, led us to making what I genuinely think is our greatest record yet.”
