SOUTH ARCADE DROP NEW SONG

In the midst of what is proving to be their most significant year to date, South Arcade have returned with their inaugural release of 2026. Their latest single, ‘SUPERMAN’, is now available across all major platforms, with an official music video set to premiere at 6pm today. Listen HERE.

Musically, SUPERMAN fuses the band’s hallmark Y2K-inspired aesthetic with a vibrant array of genre influences, resulting in a sound that manages to feel both nostalgic and distinctly contemporary. The track features a collision of glitchy pop production and high-octane alt-rock energy, anchored by anthemic hooks and powerful choruses. Discussing the inspiration behind the song, the four-piece explained, “SUPERMAN is about being pushed past breaking point. All patience has tapped out and you put the song on as your rage anthem. We found it funny how the verses are so chill then it just suddenly goes crazy, which kind of summed up the feelings we wanted. When you’re sick of being the one who always holds it together and something has pushed you over the edge.”

The accompanying music video, directed by DOGBRAIN, visualizes this rebellious spirit through a compelling concept that examines the divide between internal rage fantasies and the expectations of social decorum. Each member of the band is portrayed as an average civilian navigating a mundane, slightly stifling scenario. As the song progresses, the pre-chorus shatters the reality of these scenes with cinematic flashes of cartoonish violence, only for the chorus to abruptly pull the viewer back into the grounded social norms the characters are forced to maintain. Ultimately, the video reveals that these explosive alter egos are merely intrusive thoughts rather than reality, offering a darkly humorous look at the friction between one's inner emotional life and their outward composure.

The release of the single follows the announcement of South Arcade's most ambitious headline performance yet. On 25th February 2027, the group will take the stage at London’s legendary O2 Academy Brixton, a moment that signifies a major breakthrough in their career trajectory. This milestone show was announced to a crowd of thousands last week during the band's support slot for 5 Seconds Of Summer at The O2 Arena as part of the Everyone’s A Star UK and EU tour. Regarding the upcoming Brixton date, the band remarked, “We can’t quite believe we’re saying it but we’re so excited we can announce our crazy plan to headline Brixton O2 Academy! It’s such a cool venue and one we’ve seen so many amazing bands in so to be able to step onto that stage still doesn’t quite make sense to us! Now we just need to find some more huge spray cans…”

SUPERMAN serves as a powerful catalyst for South Arcade following the success of their 2025 EP PLAY!, which included the popular singles FEAR OF HEIGHTS, Drive Myself Home, and the Radio 1 staple Supermodels. The band's momentum has seen them secure prestigious festival appearances, including a main stage slot at Download Festival alongside Guns N' Roses and Linkin Park, as well as a set at TRNSMT Festival. Their international reach continues to expand with a return to the United States for the idobi Summer School 2026 tour, followed by an appearance on the iconic Vans Warped Tour later in the year. With over 105 million Spotify streams accumulated across their previous two EPs, 2005 and PLAY!, the band has solidified their status in the alternative rock landscape, supported by a massive social media presence including 22 million likes on TikTok and a thriving YouTube community.

South Arcade consists of vocalist Harmony Cavelle, guitarist Harry Winks, bassist Ollie Green, and drummer Cody Jones.
