On the precipice of diving into a monumental summer season jam-packed with massive festival appearances, high-energy live shows, and a steady rollout of new material, South Arcade have officially made their roaring return with the release of their highly anticipated new single, ‘DEADMEAT.’ The freshly unleashed track has arrived across all major digital streaming networks globally, launched through BKM in an exclusive partnership with Atlantic US.

Peeling back the layers on the inspiration behind the brand-new anthem, the band shared: “We went into writing wanting to tell a sort of modern Romeo and Juliet story (but with a less depressing ending), and we left with DEADMEAT. It has this reckless optimism about it where the two characters’ worlds shouldn’t really overlap but they’ve found each other regardless - they want to escape all of that noise, steal a car and leave town. It had this ‘us against the world’ energy that we loved.”

This wildly infectious and heavy-hitting cut highlights a distinctly playful, mischievous side to the four-piece's collective personality while safely preserving the core signature sonics that fans have come to know and love. The group strategically dropped the curtain on this new single just ahead of a relentless summer itinerary that is bursting at the seams with major international festival slots. Among these high-profile appearances, South Arcade are locked in to take over the main stage at Download Festival, as well as performing at Rock for People and TRNSMT, all before crossing the Atlantic to hit the road in North America for the highly sought-after Idobi Summer School tour and the legendary Vans Warped Tour revival. Having only recently wrapped up a massive run of UK and European arena dates alongside global pop-rock powerhouses 5 Seconds Of Summer, South Arcade had subtly teased the live crowds with early glimpses of the track, successfully igniting a wave of feverish online anticipation leading up to its official arrival.

‘DEADMEAT’ serves as the direct successor to their previous heavy-hitter single, ‘SUPERMAN,’ which originally made its impact back in April and rapidly cemented its status as the band’s most explosive streaming debut to date, racking up well over 1.6 million plays on Spotify alone in a matter of weeks. As a rapidly rising force that is systematically dominating every single facet of the modern music landscape, the group has already amassed an astounding 180 million global streams, backed by a deeply loyal digital army of over 2.2 million dedicated followers across their active social media networks. Capitalizing on this unstoppable momentum, the band recently sent shockwaves through their fanbase by announcing their absolute largest headline performance to date, which will see them command the stage at the world-renowned O2 Academy Brixton in London on February 25th, 2027, a monumental milestone that marks a significant crowning achievement in their already dizzying trajectory.

Arriving hot on the heels of their previous standout extended plays, PLAY! and 2005, both of which earned relentless, heavyweight support and frequent airplay from BBC Radio 1 across a multitude of their flagship daytime shows, South Arcade have generated a level of industry-wide noise that has become utterly impossible to overlook. Propelled by the undeniable success of previous breakout anthems like ‘FEAR OF HEIGHTS,’ ‘Supermodels,’ and ‘Drive Myself Home,’ which continuously turn heads and captivate new listeners, the quartet are firmly establishing their dominance over the modern alternative landscape, proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that their loudest and most definitive chapters are still very much ahead of them.
