Three-time GRAMMY-nominated powerhouse Spiritbox has officially unveiled their brand-new single ‘Mourning,’ available today through Pale Chord / Rise Records. Serving as the band’s first release of new material since their critically lauded sophomore album, Tsunami Sea, the deeply affecting track provides an exciting initial look at the next chapter of Spiritbox's evolving artistry.

On ‘Mourning’, Courtney LaPlante’s impassioned clean vocals cascade over atmospheric production, gracefully navigating delicate and restrained passages before expanding into far heavier textures. Her performance stays firmly in focus from start to finish, surrounded by shifting layers of guitar, percussion, and ambient elements that continuously build and recede. The result showcases a more subdued dimension of Spiritbox, while effortlessly preserving the raw heaviness and dynamic contrast that lie at the very heart of their sound.

The release is accompanied by a visually stunning official music video co-directed by Alex Bemis and Spiritbox guitarist Mike Stringer. Marking a clear departure from the stark, black-and-white visual motif of the Tsunami Sea era, the video transports the band into a vibrant natural setting. Performance-focused sequences position Spiritbox within striking outdoor environments, featuring an ethereal, otherworldly honeycomb-like structure, while the haunting presence of a mysterious hooded figure weaves an ominous tone throughout the visual narrative.

This latest single builds on the massive momentum of Spiritbox’s sophomore record, Tsunami Sea, which arrived in March 2025. Upon release, the album landed at #1 on Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Albums chart and debuted at #26 on the Billboard 200, cementing the group’s position as one of the most innovative and essential acts in modern heavy music. The album cycle also secured Spiritbox their third consecutive GRAMMY nomination for Best Metal Performance courtesy of ‘Soft Spine.’

In addition to new music with the band, LaPlante recently joined forces with Bring Me The Horizon’s Oli Sykes and producer Grabbitz for “If The Sun Burns Out Tonight,” the official anthem for the 2026 VALORANT Champions Tour, which drops on September 16. Late last month, she also introduced her debut signature vocal plugin in collaboration with MixWave, offering a custom modular vocal suite built around the exact tools and processing techniques that shape her distinct vocal identity.

Following a highly successful North American tour alongside Evanescence, Spiritbox will head across the Atlantic this September for their Tsunami Sea UK & European Tour featuring support from Jinjer and Dying Wish. The upcoming trek highlights their largest UK headline dates to date, headlined by a milestone performance at London’s OVO Arena Wembley. From there, the group will head back to the US to share the stage with Metallica at Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut this November, before capping off the year in Australia with festival slots at Good Things Festival across Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.
