Marking a definitive evolution in their creative journey, The Amity Affliction have officially announced their highly anticipated new studio album, HOUSE OF CARDS.
Scheduled for release on 24th April 2026 via Pure Noise Records, the record serves as a landmark moment for the group, being the first full-length effort to feature clean vocalist Jonny Reeves as a permanent member since he joined the ranks in 2025. This new era bolsters Joel Birch’s trademark raw, vulnerable lyricism with a fresh vocal duality, resulting in a sonic DNA that reaffirms the band's position at the forefront of heavy music’s most dynamic acts.
To coincide with the announcement, the band has unveiled the album’s powerful title track. The single is a deeply personal piece penned by Birch, serving as an emotional audit of the complex relationship he and his siblings shared with their mother—the central figure around whom the album's narrative revolves.
Birch offers a candid look into the turbulent family dynamics that fueled the track: “Our mother died in 2024 and none of us had a healthy relationship with her. She was very self-involved, aggressive and abusive in our early years and in her later years, spent a good amount of time trying to put a wedge between the three of us. Thankfully, once she passed, the three of us actually became closer as we realised we had individual but shared trauma related to her.”
Drawing directly from the formative experiences of Birch and his siblings, ‘House of Cards’ balances its aggressive musicality with poignant, heavy-hearted prose. The track serves as a vital component of the album's broader themes, a confrontation with deep-seated trauma that eventually leads toward a redefined outlook on life and human connection.
The official music video for the title track, directed by Daniel Daly, is available now alongside the single.
Building on the momentum of a massive 2025, which saw the release of 'All That I Remember' and a triumphant return to stages across North America, Europe, and the UK, the connection between The Amity Affliction and their global fanbase is more electric than ever. The demand for new music remains at a fever pitch.
With a career spanning over two decades, the band has consistently pushed boundaries, amassing a staggering legacy that includes five ARIA #1 albums, more than one billion streams, and a long history of sold-out tours worldwide. The arrival of HOUSE OF CARDS in 2026 stands to be a formidable new chapter in one of Australia’s most successful musical exports.
Australian supporters are first in line to witness the band’s return to the stage. Starting this week in Queensland, The Amity Affliction kicks off an expansive 21-date regional tour alongside fan favorites In Hearts Wake and RedHook.
This grueling run will keep the band on the road through March, serving as the ultimate warm-up for the album launch and their subsequent return to North America this April.
