Written by Troye Sivan, Leland, George Daniel, Jack Antonoff, and Styalz Fuego, the track was brought to life through production by George Daniel, Jack Antonoff, Styalz Fuego, and Sivan himself. The sonic experience of “She’s the Best” opens with spoken verses as guitars, strings and synths gather underneath, before the song breaks open into euphoria. The piece feels organic and alive, cool and understated, cheeky, and underneath it all, unguardedly tender. Serving as both a celebration and a love letter, the song directly honors the women – especially trans women – along with the drag queens, feminine-presenting people and the feminine spirit that has shaped his life, creativity and sense of self.
In tandem with this brand-new single, Sivan officially announces his anticipated fourth studio album, She’s the Best. Conceived as a deeply immersive project that is meant to be watched as much as listened to, the album explores desire, identity, joy, loneliness and queer belonging with remarkable emotional honesty.
