BLOODSTOCK REVEAL 27 BANDS FOR 2027
With BLOODSTOCK 2026 currently charging ahead at full volume and surging toward another historic, record-breaking weekend, festival headquarters has officially dropped the opening hammer for 2027. In true Catton Park tradition, the initial wave of bands was dramatically revealed on the main Ronnie James Dio stage immediately following Municipal Waste’s relentless, face-melting afternoon performance.
Get those calendars marked immediately and start making your pilgrimage plans for August 5th - 8th, 2027.
Stepping into the headlining slot on Friday night are the iconic MERCYFUL FATE, true Danish legends who laid the foundational architecture for heavy metal theatrics. With King Diamond’s unmistakable falsetto sounding as piercing and unholy as ever, festivalgoers can prepare for a grand spectacle steeped in corpse paint, inverted crosses, and occult imagery. Pay your respects to the architects, because a massive portion of extreme metal’s DNA stems directly from this stage. Sharing his excitement for their grand return, King Diamond offered a fresh update for the fans, declaring:
“Mercyful Fate is honored and looking extremely forward to playing BLOODSTOCK again, last time was awesome, and this time with a brand new album out, FINALLY!!!”
Saturday night shifts the energy into pure, unadulterated party territory—though with no decrease in total mosh pit chaos—as ELECTRIC CALLBOY make history by headlining BLOODSTOCK for the very first time. The German juggernauts combine heavy metalcore, pulse-pounding EDM rhythms, and infectious comedy to deliver one of the most wildly entertaining live experiences in modern heavy music. Picture all of Catton Park bouncing as one massive, unified crowd, resembling a euphoric rave that broke out right in the middle of a mosh pit. Commenting on their debut headline booking, the band say:
“Our first ever Bloodstock. Heavy music, questionable outfits, and thousands of metalheads? Sounds like a Perfect fit to us. We’re in. See you there!”
Bringing the weekend to a triumphant close on Sunday night is another historic first-time headliner for BLOODSTOCK: gothic-industrial metalcore heavyweights MOTIONLESS IN WHITE. Reaching two decades of dominance, the band continues to deliver an eye-popping theatrical spectacle. Frontman Chris Motionless leads the charge, turning every massive breakdown and soaring hook into the catchiest cinematic horror movie you can mosh to. Having blew audiences away on their dazzling recent tour, the group continues to grow exponentially, leaving no doubt that their headline set will be nothing short of legendary. Reflecting on this huge milestone, Chris Motionless states:
“Bloodstock! We were told that we are one of the most requested bands to perform at your legendary festival, so it is with great honor to announce that we are answering the call and will be seeing you next year for our first ever European festival headlining show, and only U.K. show of 2027! Thank you so much! Let the countdown begin.”
Over on the Sophie Lancaster stage, Thursday night headliners MADBALL are lined up to completely pulverize your opening festival night, bringing more than 35 years of uncompromising New York hardcore pedigree to the tent. Freddy Cricien and his crew deliver the real deal without gimmicks, hitting every bit as hard today as they did back in 1989. Friday’s closing spot goes to the mysterious and masked GAEREA, whose brand of black metal has grown progressively more cinematic, overwhelming, and crushing with every release. On Saturday night, KANONENFIEBER march into the top spot as Noise’s formidable German war machine transforms historical World War I diaries into visceral blackened death metal, rendering the sound of trench warfare live on stage. Closing out the entire festival on Sunday as the final band of the weekend are DETHKLOK. Born from the cult animated series Metalocalypse, the group operates as a powerhouse real-life unit ripping through brutally serious, melodic death metal riffs that demand to be experienced live.
The main Ronnie James Dio stage will also feature an exceptional lineup of special guests across the weekend. On Friday, sludge metal pioneers ACID BATH crawl forth from the Louisiana bayou to blend heavy doom, blues, and southern gothic dread. Saturday special guests GREEN LUNG will conjure up their signature folk-horror occult rock, filling the air with Hammer-film atmosphere, witchy themes, and fuzzed-out riffs. On Sunday, special guests CHILDREN OF BODOM return to honor the enduring legacy of the late, great Alexi Laiho, celebrating the classic Finnish melodic death metal sound that made them international icons.
Patience is rewarded in 2027 as DEVILDRIVER finally make their long-awaited return, bringing dark, groove-laden California metal driven by Dez Fafara’s signature growl—a performance guaranteed to spark record-breaking circle pits. The legendary CORROSION OF CONFORMITY join the roster with over four decades of experience fusing hardcore punk roots with Sabbath-soaked southern metal vibes. Swedish alternative metalcore outfit IMMINENCE arrive armed with soaring choruses wrapped inside crushing breakdowns. In a booking sure to bring immense joy, Italian folk-power metal band WIND ROSE will deliver anthems custom-built for fantasy battles and rowdy beer-hall singalongs. SYLOSIS bring precision UK thrash fused with melodic death, anchored by Josh Middleton’s relentless guitar work, while Polish technical death metal powerhouse DECAPITATED offer up razor-sharp riffs capable of impressing the genre’s toughest critics.
The lineup continues to expand with WITCH CLUB SATAN, an all-female Norwegian black metal coven turning theatrical background into confrontational, ritualistic chaos. Swedish power metal icons HAMMERFALL bring pure heavy metal steel with anthems made for shouting along, alongside fellow Swedish death metal originators HYPOCRISY, who continue to deliver a masterclass after more than three decades. Attendees will also catch THE HALO EFFECT, featuring former members of In Flames reviving the iconic Gothenburg melodic death metal sound. Former BLOODSTOCK stage breakers TORTURED DEMON return to unleash another dose of high-octane thrash, while Czech goregrind outfit GUTALAX bring blast beats, toilet humor, and chaotic fun. Swedish deathcore architects HUMANITY'S LAST BREATH will unleash their crushing, low-tuned "thall" sound, and Liverpool’s self-proclaimed masters of "caveman battle doom", CONAN, prepare to heft riffs so heavy they practically exert their own gravitational pull.
The Sophie Lancaster stage promises an equally rich and diverse selection of music inside the big tent. DOOL slink in through a haze of candlelight and doom, weaving dark rock and post-rock into a hypnotic soundscape straight out of Rotterdam, having recently completed work on a brand-new album. Virginia grindcore legends PIG DESTROYERarrive to turn skulls inside out with blistering blast beats and J.R. Hayes’ nightmarish lyrical delivery. Meanwhile, Italian death metal act FULCI rise from the grave with old-school death metal soaked in zombie-flick gore, paying direct tribute to legendary horror director Lucio Fulci.
With around 100 more bands still to be announced in the coming months, music fans are advised to act quickly to secure their place at Catton Park.
