Bimbocore pioneer Scene Queen, also known as Hannah Collins, kicks off a new era with her bold new single ‘L-Shaped Couch’ , out now via Hopeless Record - a sparkling, metal-infused tribute to '70s disco, drenched in empowerment, attitude, and glitter.

Marking a genre-bending evolution, ‘L-Shaped Couch’ is as much a sonic shift as it is a cultural statement. True to form, Scene Queen uses her platform to celebrate queer joy, challenge misogyny, and remind everyone that rebellion can be loud and fabulous.

“With the current political climate, I wanted to pay homage to a music era that was ahead of its time,” she says. “Disco was dominated by marginalised people... Black artists, queer artists, women—all shining through the noise of a society trying to quiet them.”

While some rock purists may still scoff at disco, Scene Queen sees no conflict—only opportunity. She’s fusing the groove and glow of dancefloors past with the aggression and catharsis of modern metal. And this new era? It’s collaborative, chaotic, and unapologetically queer.

“‘L-Shaped Couch’ is a little song for myself and my queer fans. About how my first queer encounter was as positive as one could have.”

Scene Queen’s next chapter starts now - and it’s dressed head-to-toe in rhinestones and rage.
